Wonder - January 21, 2011 The Cruise To Nowhere In Particular..

Parking at the airport... parking at the port... but still all a drop in the bucket compared to paying for boarding for 2 dogs! $50/day...

Can't wait till we go on our 11 day trip in May -- you do the math...

I have DISboards cruise friends in Chicago with two dogs and they discovered it was cheaper to FLY our friend in Phoenix to their house and she would dog sit for them (basically a free vacation to the big city for her). The only problem...when they are on the SAME cruise!

Wow!

We also have a 1 bedroom suite that people could see if anyone is interested.

Cool, Cabin Tour! I was thinking of trying to arrange something like that for our Dream Cruise. Since everyone will want to view the variety of cabin styles, I thought that a tour would be fun.

Power shopped today :cool1::cool1:

Working on my Fish Extender gifts now.....leaving for the Crowne Plaza on Thursday...

For all those getting ready to leave...:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::dance3::dance3::banana::banana:

See ya onboard :grouphug:

A Navigator for what...or when?

They haven't done a 2 day itinerary before. :confused3

.

Yeah, this will be a real adventure! I'm interested in seeing what will happen onboard. Although, I've come to the realization that DCL really didn't want to put a great deal of thought into this short little cruise.

I don't think SHORESIDE did, but I'm betting shipboard staff is putting some effort into it. I have faith in the crew! :)

I'll agree with you there. The ships staff have always worked hard to make DCL the best and they're why I keep coming back

We went to DL for the long MLK weekend. World of Color Sunday night had two shows. We got blue fastpasses @ 10 am for the first show. We lined up at 6:30, got in and on the railing at 6:45. Show at 8 pm was unbelieavle---plus we had no crowds, no pushing and shoving, and nobody in front of us (get a railing spot!!!). Exit was also way easier than I'd expected.

Heading to Pedro Thursday after work. Can't wait to board the ship. I must admit that I am disappointed with the dining situation, but I agree with the posters who trust the crew. It's going to be amazing no matter what.

Especially because we're on the list of people leaving the kids behind!!

We had a cabin tour arranged on our last cruise. I think there was a cabin of every category except one (the sideways one). We even had someone in our cruise meet who had the the Roy suite!! I thought it was very kind and generous of all who shared their cabins with us.

sorry to bug everyone with another tipping question, but....
I read (I think on this thread) that tips would amount to $12 pp. With my math, I am coming up with $24pp. What am I doing wrong? I am taking 2/3 of the cost for a 3 night cruise....

I am using (total for 2 nights):
Dining room server- $8pp
Asst. server- $6pp
Head server- $2pp
Stateroom host- $8

Please advise. I want to tip fairly!

I came up with a total of $24 pp for the 2-day cruise. It will be a total $96 for the 4 us.

called a few days ago and pre-paid tips for this cruise. That was easy. I went through the trouble of calculating both the cost for my cabin and my in-laws. However the DCL agent I spoke with did all of that for me, so I needn't have worried. I'll probably leave a bit extra if I get exemplary service but I'll worry about that later.

We asked our TA to charge us for prepaid tips and I believe the total was $96 as well. We will tip extra if warranted... it usually always is... though with a cruise this short, my kids may not have a chance to destroy the room like they usually do.

SERIOUSLY PEOPLE... How am I expected to get any work done this week?
party:

I'm with you. Fortunately, I think, I have to fly to another site tonight for a training class tomorrow. So, at least that will leave me with just one more work day after that. They we drive up to Lompoc to pick up mo mom and niece on Thursday evening and then it will be time to head to the WONDER!!!

Thanks for the tipping info...my DH hates the way I tip!

He thinks we could make an extra house payment with the over tipping I do! :confused3
