Wonder - January 21, 2011 The Cruise To Nowhere In Particular..

So, have they announced that they are doing the $50 obc for 2011 cruises? When we booked our October 2011 cruise I was told that they didn't know yet if disney visa was going to do the obc.

Well, it's on a lot of people's reservations already, so if they take it away, people are going to be not too happy.

WOW, Thanks for posting. We just booked this cruise after seeing this post today!
We are in a sideways 11-B. Our second DCL cruise. Previously on the 4 nights in a secret port hole room.

My guess is that with so few Palo appts avail, it'll be luck of the draw for that one. I may attempt a brunch but I'll not do dinner. Funny thing, with no excursions and a tight Palo I'll be had pressed to spend that $75. Maybe it'll be on one of the D&B purses for the wife. I ought to get some mileage out of that one.

Oooo good idea. :thumbsup2

I believe every sideways 11 has been spoken for on this thread. We should do a roll call!

Hey, I just saw the thread about this cruise today, and we too are now booked on this weekend getaway in a sidways 11-B.
This is our second cruise. Last year we did the 4 night in a SPH and had a great time.

Wouldn't have thought we'd be going back so soon, but no complaints.

We were at the port today to watch some friends sail away on their RCCL cruise. Yes..the best way to get there is the 91 west to the 110 south towards San Pedro and then get off on the Vincent Thomas Bridge/Harbor Blvd exit. Stay towards the right to Harbor Blvd and in the middle lane. Cross Harbor into the terminal. Turn right to the parking area. $12 a night.

Today started off as 75 and sunny, but by sailaway it was windy, cloudy, and cold!

We stayed at the Hyatt Long Beach. Great location (about 10 min away from the port), across the street from Shoreline Village, safe area, and really nice hotel.

I stayed at this hotel fo 9 days back in 2004 and loved it.

I'm so glad that so many of you are taking advantage of this great weekend excursion. Have fun!

Well, I bought room 5005 for my in-laws and I have 5013. In addition a good friend has room 5009. Only one more sideways room on my side of deck 5. Who got it?

Ok..ok..I'm starting to feel left out! My cabin isn't sideways! :sad2:

I am not sure on the entertainment or restaurant. I would assume it will be pretty bare bones but whatever they have will be just fine with us..we are using the weekend as relaxation before returning to the real world!

I just booked my Mom and Sis on this one...they are in a CAT 11A.

Welcome to everyone who is joining us!

I'll update this as needed

I'm so curious about the dining too! At first I thought that it may be bare bones as well..but if they are using this cruise to entice west coasters to hop on a longer one, they will probably want to do it right! I wonder if they will have 3 dining rotations as usual, but each misses out on a different restaurant? We could probably call ahead to request a certain rotation. I know they aren't guaranteed, but my few requests have always been met.

As for a character b.fast....I would LOVE it as we have never been on a 7 night cruise, but just don't see how that would work.....unless it was treated as an excursion as someone mentioned.

tink1963 - just wondering if you are the same tink1963 I met in DL in 2008? It was for the LP Club 33 meet. If you are the same - HEY AGAIN!!!! If you aren't, then I hope to meet you on the cruise!! :cool1:

Well..I recieved a message from Disney..seems they are having an issue with my deposit amount and they had to "freeze" my ressie until they can figure it out. I haven't lost my cabin but they can't take my deposit yet.

I hope they figure it out tomorrow....these kind of things stress me out!

Oh! that would stress me out too. I get annoyed when my credit card fails to swipe at the store!
