I has impacted Serenity Bay off and on so I'd expect continued issues there. I think because of how the family beach is situated and protected, there usually isn't an issue there.
I first learned about it when reading reviews on various resorts in Mexico several years back. Apparently, some resorts are much more diligent at cleaning it up than others. When I was selecting a resort for that Mexico trip, I picked one with reviews which mentioned crews out frequently cleaning the beach and was able to enjoy the beach on that trip.
I haven't experienced it at CC, but I have seen posts here and on FB from cruisers who have seen it at Serenity Bay. I think DCL tries to keep it cleaned up but sometimes it gets ahead of them.
Ew. I was just on the Florida panhandle last week and they had a ton of green seaweed, but not brown and stinky like this. It does really affect how much you're able to get in the water.
