October 17th:
Today was our day in Nassau. I woke up up extra early and went for a walk. All that food the night before!:p I felt the need to make sure I didn't gain TOO much weight! When i got back to the stateroom, my brother was just waking up and we were nearing Nassau. As we got closer, we could see Atlantis out of our porthole. I told my brother to call our parents so they wouldn't miss how pretty it was! I only heard his end of the conversation...but he seemed a little confused. About half an hour later, we went to get our parents for breakfast, and I asked if they had seen Atlantis. My dad looked at me like I was crazy and "gently" reminded me we were in Nassau....:p My brother and I got a big kick out of that as we explain Atlantis was a resort.

We went up to Deck 9 for breakfast. I'm not a huge breakfast person so I only had fruit and a roll. But my family loved the buffet. We sat outside and checked out the view while we ate. It wasn't sunny but it was warm. I was ready to go ashore but had to be patient while everyone else ate.

We decided to to to Ardastra Gardens and Zoo. We didn't do the Disney excursion but took a cab. Thanks to everyone on the boards advice I knew to bargain with the cab driver BEFORE getting into the cab. We settled on $3 per person and were off. I have to say the cab ride was a little scary! Not only driving on the other side of the road, but the streets seemed rather narrow and our cabbie was driving VERY fast!

But we made it in one piece. We all enjoyed the zoo. I got to stand up with the flamingos during the "parade". So that was fun! We got a lot of good pictures and the experience of that kind of zoo was interesting! I'm used to the National Zoo in D.C. which is VERY different.

When we were done, one of the workers called a cab for us. These cabbie had a MAJOR attitude and didn't want to settle on $3 per person. I was about to call a different cab when he finally agreed. However he was VERY rude the entire drive back to the port. We all felt a little uncomfortable.

After we got back to the port, we walked around town a bit. Bought some t-shirts and went into some of the stores. We went to the Straw Market for a short time. But it was very hot and crowded. And the people were very pushy about buying things from them. We didn't stay long!

We headed back to the ship for lunch and sat by the pool for awhile. Then it was time to dress for dinner and get to our show. Tonight was Disney Dreams. And I agree with everyone that this show is amazing! I was all teary eyes by the end! My family thought I was a little nuts!

Dinner was at Animator's Palate. This was the most fun I had at a meal! What an amazing show they put on. We were at a back table (by the kitchen door) but still enjoyed it. I took tons of pictures. Though none of them really captured the beauty of the restaurant.

After dinner we went to the Atrium for more pics and character autographs. Then we went to the Goofy Pool for the Tropical Beach Party. There was a midnight buffet....but we were still SO full from dinner that we didn't eat anything else. Didn't even get a chance to look at it so not sure what they had! But we had a great time dancing and drinking our fruity drinks!

Then it was off to bed. Castaway Cay was in the morning and we had a busy day planned!
