If you check out the Port Nassau webcam right now (1pm 11/22/16) the Wonder and Dream are docked right next to each other. The question I had - if you were a passenger on the Dream and just wanted to go aboard the Wonder to look around that ship, or vice versa, would DCL allow that?

Unlikely. You have no legitimate reason for being onboard (only passengers & crew). That's the point of the security scan on boarding.

The reason would be to check out that ship to see if it's one I would like to take a cruise on.

My thinking was that all the access stuff is computerized so they could easily allow the Dream key cards to scan in on the Wonder and they would know exactly which Dream passengers were aboard and when they got off. I'm sure the DCL ships use the same system so seems like it would be technologically possible. It's similar to leaving Magic Kingdom and going to Epcot, in a way.

I'm not sure if they (both ships) would be using the same port access security. I know you have to show your KTTW card to port security to access the dock area to reboard the ships. If they have different security booths, then they wouldn't (shouldn't) even allow someone from another ship access.

No, you would not be allowed to board any ship except the one you are a passenger on.

As for your analogy, if you don't have a park hopper then you will not be allowed in to Epcot if you have already used your ticket to enter MK. Not even if you tell them you want to see if it is a park you would like to visit.

Sorry, no such luck. Can tell you this though - if you decide to try the Dream next time you'll like it!

I've seen visitors on a few port days during some of our cruises - probably TA's by the way they acted. They were walking around the ship in groups, accompanied by a crew member, with a special lanyard around their neck. I gather they wouldn't let someone walk around the ship unaccompanied with all the risks involved, including the possibility that the departure might be delayed if that person does not disembark in time.

As a CM I visited the Dream when we docked with it, I had to sign on as a visitor and exchange my crew card for a visitor pass. There were about six of us and it took a while, I couldn't imagine what it would be like if there was the possibility of two ships worth of guests 'swapping' over for the day...
