June 15th...
After a peaceful night of sleep in Titusville, we head off to the ship which is about 20 minutes away. As we get closer to the port we can see the ship in the distance. DH has a smile on his face and the kids are going wild. Yippeeeeeeeee!!!!!! We are finally here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The weather is perfect!!!! DH drops us off along with the luggage while he parks the car. He gets the "ANT" talk and dumps out all food that could lure the buggers into the car. He meets us outside the doors and in we go. The Terminal is beautiful. We show our ID's and get our key cards and get in line. It is about 10:50 and we are about the10th family or so in line. I am glad I read the boards to get in line early. We take turns checking out the place. Mickey showed up to greet us all in his captain suit. There is a small cafe inside with coffee, pop, water and pastries. I start looking for DIS members. There are people wearing lime green everywhere I look. Are they real DIS members or just imposters???!!! DH was wondering if the ship would recognize Father's Day. I kept my fingers crossed knowing that Disney would not let us down and "dad" would be recognized. Our name was announced when we boarded which brought tears to my eyes which I quickly hid and a cast member wishes my DH a "Happy Father's Day". We then were directed to Parrot Cay for lunch. The buffet was delicious. We loaded our plates with tons of shrimp and food. It was all excellent and DH was in heaven!!! We then explored the ship and found our way to our room. It was a cat 9 room 2534. The room was beautiful. We see our Navigator and in big letters on the top it says:
Welcome Aboard! Happy Father's Day! DH is impressed. We hang out in the room and then go and explore the ship again. We find the game room and the kids want to do battle with the "Claw". DS won a stuffed bear right away which made DD want one also. After a few tries she also won a stuffed bear. Thank goodness the "Claw" was being generous. We do the boat drill and of course there are a couple of families missing. We then enjoy the Sail-Away Celebration with the characters. Afterwards, we head to dinner at Parrot Cay. We had a table of four to ourselves. On each side of us were also familes of four. Everyone seemed very nice and we met a nice family from Georgia on one side of us. The meal was delicious. DH and I stuffed ourselves with appetizers, salads, soups, the main course and dessert. While making a bathroom break with my DD during dinner, I notice a huge Father's Day cake at the entrance of the dining room wishing all the fathers a "Happy Father's Day". I tell DH when I get back and he goes up to look at the cake. He is very happy now!!!!! Disney has let my DH know and all the other Father's that they appreciate them. We then attend the "Welcome Aboard Variety Show". It was enjoyed by all. Afterwards we hit the stores and shop like maniacs. I purchased a beautiful Cruise Scrapbook, some x-mas ornaments, some t-shirts along with some misc. stuff. We spend the rest of the evening exploring the ship and hit the sheets around 11:00 p.m.
