I am new to this board and just returned from my first cruise on the Wonder 12/7 to 12/11. I was a little surprised at the weather. It was quite chilly at the pools on the boat. My 4 yr. old dd swam in mickey's little pool which was heated 83' but she would freeze when she came out. It seemed like the winds were very strong on the boat. The weather at Castaway was great though and warm and people swam in the water but again it wasn't warm enough for me. I didnt go ashore at Nassau - we stayed on the boat. My dd really was interested in meeting the characters. My advice is to have an autograph book before you get on the ship because the stores are open at varying hours due to customs. There is a board outside of Tritons that listed the character appearances and times. I was a bit disappointed that some of the times were at 10:00 PM, which is late for my dd. And although Areial is in the Disney Dreams show - she does not put in appearance on the ship for pictures.

We were in room 6524 and it was nice and had plenty of space and a porthole window. We were upgraded during check in. I asked about being upgraded but to my surprise they had already done it.

All in all we enjoyed our cruise but wished the weather had been warmer!

Hi. Thanks for posting your trip report and welcome to the DIS boards! The weather can go either way in the winter. But, I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise, anyway.

Did your DD go to the club? My DD didnt go last year, but now she is 6-a big girl! She is very excited about joining in when we sail in Feb '04.

Nooo - I was really hoping she would stay in the club some - it looked like a lot of fun. But she was adamant that she didn't want me to leave her. And really this trip was about her and I having fun together so I didn't push it.

Same situation with my DD last January. We were glued together-which I loved! But this year she wants to try the clubs. We'll see!

We were on the same cruise, and I have to agree about the weather (although I did swim everyday).

My granddaughter (3 1/2) spent some time in the club, especially on Castaway Cay. She was also in the show on the last day. She enjoyed her time, but wanted to spend most of her time with her Grandpa!

I'll third that motion -- too cold for me to swim on the ship :)

I did snorkel about an hour at CC before getting too chilly to continue.

Beth -- so sorry we never got a chance to intro the girls!! Paige just took off with the OClub and never batted an eye about not knowing anyone. I hope Megan had a good experience there too, and maybe they did meet at the club after all?? :)

4 days was just NOT enough time to do it all!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if they did meet, since Megan spent ALL of her time at the club--her mom had to go and drag her out when it was time for our family pictures and stuff! She did have a great time, though. I'm hoping to see her and her family on Thursday for the holiday, assuming that we've all recovered from the terrible colds that were souvenirs of our trip. After that, I'll be posting my very long trip report!
