Won a cruise...Lots of questions

Just found out I won a 4 night Disney Cruise from a local radio station!! Never cruised before, can't wait!
Is there a particular time of year where the seas are calmer?
Is it unbearably hot during July and August?
Which version of the 4 day cruise do you experts recommend?
Will be traveling with DH and DD's 4, 8...any help, thoughts would be appreciated!

Wow how lucky you are!!
July and August are very hot and summer there will be more kids on the ship. We took our kids in October during a school break and the weather was perfect, in the 80's and the seas were very smooth. There were plenty of kids onboard for my kids to have a great time with but not so many that we felt overrun with kids.

Congrats! I won a Disney cruise last year and it was fabulous!!!
They gave me certain time frames I could cruise. I chose October and LOVED it!!!!!

Congratulations on such a great prize. We have traveled in both May and Sept. Both were very warm, I would expect July and August to be very hot. But better to be hot on a cruise ship than at home

I've been trying to win a cruise for a long time. We won a trip for 4 to WDW last year and went in January. It was much more fun knowing it was free.

If possible, avoid Aug - Nov for hurricane season, especially with an El Nino year in effect.

otherwise, you are the envy of the boards!

We love the May/October cruises but this year we are braving August! Maybe we will get lucky and have a Magic-al Mystery Cruise again!!!!!!!
