What are you getting your hubby or boyfriend for Valentines Day? What type of gifts have you given in the past years?

This will be our 3rd Valentines Day together, first one being married. Even though Valentines Day is more woman oriented, I always get my husband a card and something else. Which for the past few years has been lingerie. Is that the only thing guys like to receive. Just kidding......I just wanted to do something different this year.

I'm sure this thread will be of help to many as Valentines Day draws nearer. Please share your ideas!

Thanks,
Michelle

I'll just say what he wanted, I didn't need any money for.

Of course, that doesn't include the last few years of nothing, nada, zip, zilch.

Do I surprise hubby with something on Valentines Day....UH HUH.....ME!!!!!!! ::yes:: :hyper:

Of course THAT happens more than just Valentines Day, but I couldn't resist! ;)

I'm always glad I married DH. He's just like me in some respects. I did buy him a toiletry travel pack last year when we were engaged. That was because I knew i was getting my engagement ring(Dated and got engaged long distance on my b-day a month b4 Valentines day).

This year there will be no silly cards, no valentines candy. We are of the belief that its a Scam created by the card companies so we will have our usual fun-filled weekend. I know there was a real St. Valentine, but I'm pretty sure this isn't what he had in mind for his feast day.

To those who observe. I wish you all happy V-days

I'm with you Octoberbride. I just don't get Valentines Day. I think it was cute when we were in school and you got that paperbag full of cards and it was that one day when you could send the cutest guy an anonymous "I heart you" card. It was even cute the first year that DH and I were going out and we celebrated by exchanging one white rose with each other. Since we got married though, we don't do anything more than arrange to eat dinner together, preferably without the kids and preferably one that I haven't had to cook.

I got my husband a very early gift. He likes candy very much so I found a site that sells retro candy, and got him a box of candy from the 60's. :teeth:

We don't really "do" Valentine's Day anymore either. We usually get each other a card, and maybe go out to dinner that week (not usually on Valentine's Day though as the restaurants we like are MOBBED). Today is our 9th wedding anniversary and I haven't even got a card....we are supposed to go out to dinner tonight, but our kids are sick, we're a bit under the weather and I just don't know. I do like to spoil DH on his birthday though....(just so you think I'm not a total scrooge!):p

happily involved for a year and a half now and I do suprise DBF on V-Day(last year it was tickets to see Daredevil and the soundtrack cd plus a cute card and a silly stuffed toy).I'm working on this year's suprise

I get Dh the same thing every year.....Velentines boxers. It's our tradition.

I’m going all out for DBF this year since it’s our first Val Day together. Got theater tickets and a room reservation at a very nice hotel for the night (to the tune of about $350). Hope I’m not setting a bad precedent! I just can’t decide whether (or how) to try to make it a surprise since he’ll need to pack a bag.

My husband loves chocolate and since we only allow candy on special occasions, I make sure to get him some every Valentine's Day. Other than that, we don't do anything.

I'm with you, too, Ob...specifically told my BF not to get me anything last year, I'd rather save the money if we can!

I love Valentine's Day!! I've loved it ever since I can remember.

I love heart shaped cookies, I love valentine's cards, I love conversation hearts, I love it all!

Because of that, DH always receives something from me. I haven't decided what it will be yet. I would like to send him something at work, not sure what.

We usually go out to eat another night when it isn't so busy or cook a big fancy meal at home.

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!

Tamie

We usually just do the card thing and get a babysitter and go out for a nice quiet dinner.

Since this will be my first Valentine's Day as a married gal, I think I'm going to follow my mom's tradition. She always makes cookies for my dad and sends them with him to work. He's always the hit of the office since he shares. :)

Been with DH for 26 years and have run the whole gift giving course. Big, little and none. We usually remember on the 15th that "Hmmm. Yesterday was Valentines Day, wasn't it? I do still love you, ya know!" That's it for us.

Keep the Faith!
Tracy

My Dh will get something not sure what yet. Seeing as we will be returning from WDW that Day it may just be a card.

We don't do Valentine's Day anymore..............been married 19 years & have 2 teenagers.

We just do Birthday & Christmas nowadays.

My husband and I don't get into Valentine's day. We feel the same was as octoberbride does.

Plus, restaurants are always crowded that night, flower prices inflated and neither of us eat candy! Now birthdays and Christmas are another story, we really get into those days. :D
