women allegedly sells her son to fund a WDW Trip

 Any offers for a 17 year old well educated boy?

Upto now never had to give up anything but thru these tough times it is not easy, we have given up replacing car & van every 2-3 year(now almost 6 & 5 year old respectively) Bathroom gets more in need of a refurb every year & our central heating boiler has been in since house was built 31 years ago.

Not actually going to sell anything but the money we spend should be spent elsewhere.

Matt has just been to look at Leeds Uni for a 2nd time this morning, starting figures, fees £9k/year & £159/wk for a box room with 12 meals a wk. He is now also considering turning his English language degree into a 4 year period to take the 3rd year out in the states studying. Then possibly a 5th year post grad journalism.

Off to look what I can sell.:rotfl2:

Now all I have in my head is the restaurant scene from the Blues Brothers.

'How much for the woman? The woman I will buy her! How much?!'

It will get worse before its gets better, we are just back from going to visit our eldest at uni- We are only 4 weeks into term and her money is low but her next fund instalment is not until 19th oct, so not only have we just taken her for dinner but we have just taken her to the supermarket and paid the £85 bill - Our fault we kept adding to the trolley as we are going away on hols and she is staying - we both feel guilty at leaving her out of a family holiday (1st time doing this:sad1:) and worried that she may run out of money while were away!

Not only that but she is now missing our Xmas holiday as we go on 26th to tenerife but her uncle is flying her and her cousin to the cayman islands the same day for their 18ths (both were 18 earlier in the year). She will not be holiday with us until our next disney trip in july-

So I have just had a thought I could sell her uncle!! to fund disney ( only joking its really brill of him to do this - but I'm going to miss her soooooo much over xmas hols)

Nobody would buy my kids.;)

I've even tried BOGOF....

We went to Bulgaria in 2002 and someone offered to buy my two children (ds5 and dd2)

They were both blonde haired and blue eyed. I kept a close eye on them after that.

Id sell my husband, but I dont think I would get enough:rotfl2:

I was also thinking of selling DH....also, don't think I will get enough:rotfl:

but just been toting up what we spent in DW over the last 2 weeks:scared1:.......most of the spends were his......maybe I just shouldn't take him:rotfl:

Like us....we could do with new windows and countless other home improvements.....but Disney always wins:rotfl2:

The cost of Uni is quite scary, I'm pleases that the Welsh Goverment didn't hike the fees up like England....a while of for my kids but planning for the future

So glad i hv my daughters bond i started when she was a baby. Its worth around £11000 now and shes just 9 so i hope this will give her a good start or it will be kching in the asda employment world for her.:happytv:Wayne how can u consider palming off matt?

We only have 1 year left to pay for our daughter. She is doing a dental surgeon degree so five long years. But once she is earning we told her we only want 2 flights twice a year to Disney :).
We value our holiday above house and car as well. !!

We're not even thinking of returning to WDW for a very long time due to supporting our kids through university.

But I'm really, really having trouble understanding next year's university funding and what's the best thing to do for DD.

DS is in his final year of a 3 year course. He has had the minimum student loan and between him and us will probably have enough savings to pay it off after he graduates - although might be more prudent not to pay it off and use the savings to save him getting dearer loans later on.

DD is due to go to uni next year. She's not looking at studying for a very highly paid career such as medicine - so she'll probably never earn enough to be asked pay off her loan off in full. It looks to me that it is in her interest to borrow the maximum she is allowed to as she will make the same payments whatever she owes as these are based on her income and a waste of our money to help her pay it off.

I'm so confused.

We will be putting as much as we can onto the loan, unless he gets a fantastic job it will never be repaid. They don't start repaying until earning over £21k, at £22k the repayment amount is £90/year.

Going on the talks he attended yesterday the year out is more about meeting friends and seeing another country rather than learning much :rotfl: He blogged about yesterday here http://mathewgillings.wordpress.com/2011/10/08/university-of-leeds/

When I was a kid (also blonde haired and blue eyed) my Mum was offered a restaurant and some camels for me.
