Woman jailed for incident at MCO airport.

Yikes, that's awful! I just returned yesterday and witnessed a few abusive parents at the parks. Not as bad as this woman, but I felt sorry for the kids. The heat and humidity gets to everyone. I saw more kids taking tantrums this trip too. Not just screaming, but on the ground kicking.

The article said that airport personnel would help parents with children hurrying to make a flight.

Really??????

I would put some of the blame on the airlines.

Airlines should not charge a change fee let alone force the purchase of a new ticket if a passenger "just misses" a flight.

When you are in the transportation business, you should realize that slight timing errors do happen, and accommodate your customers accordingly. The few seats that go empty, the wasted system capactity that results, is part of the cost of doing business.

And to the extent security contributes to the problem the ailines should negotiate with the government. Let bailout money help make up for the inefficiencies caused by TSA.

Then taxpayers aggrieved by those bailouts should vote against every last incumbent and bring into Congress and the WHite House new blood.

That is outrageous. I hope the child finds a safe haven. How very sad :(

There is no excuse for what this woman did. She obviously did not allow enough time to make her flight. It doesn't say if she tried to get anyone to help her move through the line.

The airlines used to have a "flat tire" rule so if you missed a flight they would put you on the next one. Not sure if they still have this or not.

I don't think this article gave enough facts to be sure what happened. I saw this on TV while I was in Orlando and they didn't provide a lot of details either.

That is very sad. I can't imagine treating my child like that. And like others here, I also agree that there is no excuse for this type of behavior.

The thing that really concerns me is: if this women would do this in a public airport with lots of people observing her behaviour, how is this child treated at home when no one is there!
