I would rather our family go to the second WOC performance at 10:15.

From what I understand (but I could be wrong), fastpasses are distributed for the first show, then when those are out, for the second show.

If that is so, about what time should I try for the 10:15? Or should I not push my luck that it would run out for the second show, and just get a FP early in the day?

Also, I read that the red section is now gone, does that mean that the yellow section is now also the old red section?

Thanks

When will you be at the DLR? Before or after the grand re-opening?

I would check the WOC machines in the afternoon around 1pm for the 10:15 show. That may be too early, but you could check the progress of distribution. And you are correct, they distribute the first show in its entirety and then the next.

Sometimes I have had to check back a few times to get the color and time I wanted. Have fun! :goodvibes

This may be a silly question, but I've never been, so how do you check? Do you just get a fast pass and if it isn't the one you want, don't use it? Or does somewhere on the machine tell you what show and color it is currently distributing? TY!

Not a silly question at all. Don't get a FP until it is the one you want because you can only get one per ticket. Sometimes they have signs out saying which show they are distributing, but sometimes not. If they don't, I just ask the CM out front which show they are on. :thumbsup2

thank you...and part of the reason I was thinking the second show is because, like I read for Fantasmic, with the second show you can't wait much ahead of time because the first show is going on.

Is this how it is with WOC also? There would be a shorter wait of people to get in, since the other show is progressing?

and ArchOwl, you said you wait for your favorite color--is that yellow or blue?

No. WOC has lines the queue up while the first show is running. Fantasmic does not. You might save a little waiting if you see the second show. Maybe 30 minutes? Hard to say. But you will be more tired because of the later hour which IMO detracts from any show.

Well, one of the problems of the second show is that you are waiting while the first show is going on. You can't see everything that is happening, but you are waiting in a holding area while the first show is playing. Some people dislike that as they feel it ruins the show for them the first time. I didn't feel that way, but understand why someone might.

WOC is different than F! because you are given a place to wait for the second show and F! is more like a free for all. You still need to line up ahead of time to see the second showing of WOC, unlike F! where you don't have to wait as long for the second show as the first. Unfortunately, there aren't a whole lot of options to get out of waiting for WOC. Preferred dining might shorten it a bit, but doesn't eliminate it. You can skip the FP thing altogether and just watch it from the Little Mermaid building, but the view is not as good and it is harder for little ones to see from there.

I have seen the show from all three colors and personally I like blue best. But others prefer yellow.

alright, well, guess we'll see how we do with waiting that night, my little 2 and 5 year olds.

I think it would be a little difficult to hear but not see the first show, especially since it will be our first time.

I just hope that with all the wait time with either show, we will actually see and make it worthwhile!

THank you for the input!

My recommendation - especially with kids so young - is don't see WOC unless you plan to put in the time waiting so you can get a rail spot. And I know my kids would not be able to stay awake that late when they were that age. You sure the first show isn't a better choice?

What??? :sad1: I know there was more to your quote (unless we put in the time to get a rail spot), but that hit me!

It just looks so beautiful! I've already shown them clips, but maybe they won't be as mesmerized as I would be. And the big bummer would be waiting for an hour and still not seeing much.

Would the view be fair enough for them if we saw it on the LM ramp? My husband can hold our 5 year old, and I can hold our 2 year old.

Oh, and I know it seems odd that we would want to do the second show with our young ones, but with the nap we are planning in the afternoon, if they ever have a nap here at home, they are up until 11 at night and still going strong, and even then they would be up much later if we didn't put them to bed.
BUT, I know with all the excitement, lines during the day, activity, etc. maybe even with a nap they may be ready to call it a day earlier in the night.

Not sure what the LM ramp is - something Little Mermaid? - I was not aware of a ramp.

There are many opinions on WOC viewing spots. About the only thing generally agreed is that the overall viewing options are poor. I for one think the show from the back is not as good as nearer the front.

You can read my opinions in the WOC superthread.

Best wishes!

thanks, yesterday I did read your top part of your WOC thread, and printed out the map (those are great!)

I just looked at more of a WOC video on youtube, and maybe I didn't watch the whole thing before, but now I saw the parts with the pirates and Fantasia movie devil look huge, scary, and intense for maybe my two littles. And the other movie images that they like, since they look so big in the production, could be overwhelming for them. Could be this is something we could look forward to on a trip in another trip someday!

Well, you've given me some things to think about!

Oh, and I thought I Remembered reading a couple weeks ago someone mentioning something about a ramp on the exit of the LIttle Mermaid ride.
