Hello all! I'm planning a trip to DL during the second week in May. WOC was still being built the last time I was there (March 2010), so I have yet to see the show. I'm taking my brother and father with me, along with DH and I want to be able to do as much as possible. I am a huge fan of F! but I'm wondering if WOC lives up to the hype. From the videos I've looked at, it just seems to be a cool water show. Am I missing something? Is it a lot better live? TIA.

oh no you can't just pop in and see it if you have the time.. it's a must see!!!!

I gave me a reason to wanting to work at Disneyland... :)

aka respark the magic! :)

i also convinced my parents to go see it. My mom was soo amazed she gave me a hug and was like wow... :D

We can skip F!, but have always planned aroung seeing WoC on each visit sinc eit opened. We love it. -- Suzanne

Definitely see WOC. It's completely different live - YouTube does it absolutely no justice. If you are going to see it though, you have to plan around it. It's not like Fantasmic! where you just show up. You'll have to pick up a free Fastpass in the morning/afternoon for a good spot, or pay for a picnic or meal if you won't be around earlier to get one. Then you'll have to line up at least 30 minutes before the show starts. Even though it seems like a hassle (and it really is), the show is phenomenal. I don't know anyone that has been disappointed, and I have seen it four times myself and will continue to see it when I can. I cried, some of my male friends cried, and even my tougher-than-tough military husband let out a "that was pretty good", which translates to great in his language ;) Each time I notice something new and different. It really is amazing, and it's fun to hear the collective "ooohs", "aahhhs", and cheers from the audience throughout the show.

I'd show up 30 minutes before... No way I'm getting there 2 hours early! :3dglasses

i agree. i mean fantasmic is great and all but WOC is awesome!! and it's a not miss thing!! i agree with everyone's post~!

For so many people the trip isn't complete without watching the parades, fireworks and F!. WoC certainly goes on the list of things to see to have a complete trip.

Like everyone else said, it's a definite must see!! I've seen it around 8 or 9 times and I still can't get enough :goodvibes Makes me teary eyed every time, especially during the Whole New World and WALLE part :cloud9:

But for alot of people, it's a one time deal and they're done. I know some people like that, but they still loved it. They just didn't have to see it as much as I do :rotfl:

Honestly, if you don't have more than one day, I would have to say Fantasmic over WoC. Fantasmic is just a more complete show for me, and moves me each time I see it.

We like F and have watched it from the front row but I think WOC is much better, especially if you get a good spot. I have not lined up early for it yet and have not had a great seat but still enjoyed it more than F, call me crazy.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and advice to see WoC. I think we will definitely make it part of our trip and will try to do the FP and everything. Where are the FP distributed for WoC? Will getting a FP for WoC affect ride FPs?

I agree its a must see. We saw it for the first time this weekend. It was amazing. I can't wait to see it again!!

I also say it's a must see..but so is Fantasmic..to really see WOC right you need to be able to see the projections properly IMO..world of difference. I have seen it once from the dinner show viewing area (fabulous!) once from the VGC viewing area( nice experience, no crowds but poor viewing of projections) and once from the red fastpass area. We were waterside and it was so cool to see all the close up effects, but very poor on the projections. It is a fabulous show!

So where would be the best place to see it from if I just planned on getting FP? Do you get to choose your section when getting the FP?

You do not get to choose. The machines distribute blue (best) first, then yellow (next best), then red (worst) for the first show, then if there is a second show, they start distributing in that same order once all the colors for the first show are gone. If there is a third show, that starts getting distributed after the first two. If you want the best spot, get there early to get the FP, OR, you can buy a picnic package and be guaranteed either blue or yellow (not red).
