I am going THIS Thursday to California Disney and want to see this show. It is at 8:15. It will be me and my mom and my 4 yr DD and 12 yr DS. Thoughts?
Are the Preferred dinning worth it? Which one?
What served in the Picnic?
I want good viewing for the kids so I willing to pay not to wait for ever. PLEASE HELP!!
Thanks Kimberly

Maybe it's lack of sleep.....but I have what may be a stupid question.... When you pre-order the WOC picnics, it says you get the tote with every 4 meals purchased. Does this mean you have to buy 4 meals to get a tote? If I get just 2 meals then I will NOT get a tote? thanks in advance.... off to get more coffee :surfweb:

oh, and here's the official Disney site about the picnics...

another p.s.....the DIS WOC superthread Alwaysmb20 posted a link to is FULL of excellent information! just can't find anything about the totes....

I'm not sure. But from my experience and others it seems they give out a bag per meal. These are like supermarket reusable grocery bags with WOC artwork on them. I wouldn't worry about needing to order 4 meals.

We got one with each meal.

We had 3 picnic meals and they put them all in one bag but then gave us 2 other bags folded up.
It probably means you can fit 4 picnics into one bag

Here's a link to my DIS blog on the WoC picnic option. We did this back on WoC's opening day, but I think the info still holds up. It includes pictures of the picnics, totes, FPs, etc. You get a tote with each picnic.

FWIW, we loved WoC and thought the picnic was a great, less-expensive option to the table-service package. We've done Ariel's too (and enjoyed the food), but it was pricey.

If you arrive 40 minutes before the park opens you can grab a fastpass with no problem and for free...

Thanks everyone for the answers! Now the only other thing is from what I've read I have this question.... in our party of 4, there is one big eater. I've read that if you book for 4 the meal is very generous, but if you book for just 2, they give you almost too much food! So I'm thinking we should book seperate dinner for the 2 couples? what do you whom have eaten there think?

Just a note that they just changed the WOC picnic meals. I think that may be why you are confused smiley face2. I booked our meals on 11/15 and when I went back online later that day all the pictures and descriptions had changed. They no longer talk about the bags. The kids meals now come in a box. Also, I have ordered a Little Squirt box with yogurt & string cheese and they don't even offer that anymore. I have no clue what they are going to do when I show up on Dec 8 looking for all my bags, yogurt, string cheese, and goldfish crackers (they removed those from the kids meals too). So, look at the new pictures. My guess is they aren't giving out as many bags since it isn't new anymore and those cost money.

Good to know. I need to order ours tomorrow.

just looked at the new slides of the meals. Looks like they have downsized them and no more light up bracelet with the kids meal. It does say you have to order 4 meals to get the bag. Interesting.... I wanted to do the second show of the evening so I think I just do the fastpass machine and if I don't get one there I will try the picnics.

That's actually a good idea. I'm not sure I want to use one of our 3 budgeted high end meals at Ariels Grotto. I'm guessing by the time drinks and taxes and tip are added on to price, you're looking at over $100. for 2 people. I can see doing it during a very busy time, but we will be there during a slow week, and I'd rather do a proper nice dinner at a nice restaurant like Steakhouse 55 or even twice to Blue Bayou. We'll see how it goes on the tues. and wed. if we have no luck getting a good fastpass ticket those days, we'll book a picnic or Ariels for thurs.

Has anyone been to see WOC the past few days? I am thinking about taking the gamble and just showing up for the fastpasses when the gates open.

We will be there the week after Thanksgiving.

Has the show been packed or is it fairly relaxed compared to the summer?

Monday, Blue Fastpasses ran out at 9:50, all were gone about 12:00.

Today, Blue ran out at about 10:00, they will probably be gone by 12:30 or sooner.

Tomorrow they have more shows, but larger crowds. To get first show Blue you need to line up before 9:15 for the 9:30 rope drop, or if a Hotel guest enter between 9:00 and 9:25. The first show will probably run out about 11:45. The second and final show (10:15pm) about 2:00.

On the worst days, if you show up before 10:00am you will get a FREE WOC Fastpass.

The first show is always full. They have recently expanded the Blue section moving the Blue Handicapped the best spot in the Preferred Dining. This makes the Preferred dining ($30 meal) less valuable.

I noticed that there is also a $1 price increase for picnics for dates after 12/10. $15.99 for regular and $13.99 for AP. The descriptions of the 2 remaining kids meals does still include the light up bracelet. -- Suzanne
