I remember some time back reading that the Cove Bar was a good place to watch WOC if you don't care too much about seeing the images on the water screens. As someone who thinks the water screen portions are the boring part in between the awesome fountain and light action, this sounds perfect.

Is it still possible to do this? How far in advance of showtime is it necessary to try to get a seat?

I tried to do it on my last trip and they said they don't do it. At least that night. They closed long before woc began. I seem to remember them having a cover charge and you could watch from there. Maybe I dreamt it.

Interesting, I had not thought about the bar closing before WOC runs. Any more info on a cover charge?

I am not sure exactly if this is what happens all the time, but we have watched WOC from the Cove Bar. They had last call about 30 minutes before WOC began. Then they cleared all the plates and silverware. The CMs actually encouraged us to watch from the Cove Bar. There was no cover charge.

Back when WOC was newer, they did have a $10 pp cover charge, but I believe it was discontinued in 2013ish.

The thing is you need to be a guest of the Cove Bar before last call. Guests trying to get into the Cove Bar afterwards were turned away.

Hope that helps!

When they started the cover 5 years or so ago it was $10 per person, including kids. The capacity is less than 100 and not every table really has a view. If it's open, I'd recommend getting in line 90 to 2 hours before the first show, anticipating a 30-60 min wait for a table. The problem is, if the parks aren't very crowded, it doesn't stay open late. And it's popular for drinks and food when it's open.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I think I'll pull FPs just in case Cove Bar doesn't work out, but it seems like a good place to watch -- especially during the holiday when WOC has two different shows per night, the first show would be good to catch from the bar.
