WOC Dining packages… worth it?

Hi all,

There seems to be lots of folks here who consider Fantasmic dining packages to be worthwhile… but I don’t see as much mention of World of Color dining packages.

Do you consider WOC dining packages to be good value?

Ive done Fantasmic Dining packages, World of Color Dining Packages and World of Color Dessert packages.

Fantasmic Dining packages = Worth It, sitting on the ground before the show and during the show, everyone gets a good view

World of Color Dining Packages = Not worth it, sitting on the ground before the show, standing during the show. You need to be at the front of a section and make sure there are no people standing in front of you. Everyone has to stand during the show, so what you think may be a good view before the show could turn out that when everyone stands you cant see and people may have kids on shoulders. To get at the front of a section you need to queue up about 30 minutes before they open the viewing sections, and the viewing sections fill up fast when they open.

World of Color Dessert packages = Worth it. Its expensive but a much more enjoyable way to see the show. Sitting at a shared table.

World Of Color dessert party is definitely worth it for me and my family. Being able to sit and watch the show with an awesome view is great in itself, but having the desserts and drinks makes it even more worth it. It's pricey but a splurge we've done more than once and will do again. We love it.

Unless you want to eat at the restaurant anyway just join the virtual queue to get your spot for the show. I do find the dessert party worth it for the seat/chair alone.

I also recommend Dessert Party..it's worth it to me for the chair and unobstructed view...you also dont get wet like I used to when standing down front. That said, it's a one-and-done for me unless they change the show.

Value is very subjective. Do you care about the food? The view? Or having a chair to watch the show from?

I think you are reading that Fantasmic is a good value because the Fantasmic dining packages start at $35 pp. For that, you receive a meal and are seated (albeit on the ground) on the waterfront, closest to where the show takes place. Additionally, if you do the first show, you can stay in the dining package area and watch the fireworks show. It starts 3 min after Fantasmic ends. The projections are on water screens in front of you.

For WOC, VQ wet zone is in the front, followed by dining packages, followed by the dessert party

WOC dining packages are good if your priority is the view and not a chair. You can sit (on the ground) until just before the show starts, then they ask for you to stand. The first few rows are terraced - on the stairs leading up from the VQ wet zone. You can be several rows back and still get a good view. Below are pictures from when we did WOC dining package at Wine Country Trattoria in February.

This is how much or little they interfere with your view of the show. We were standing in the front center of the dining package area.



For the dessert party, this is a picture of the dessert from WOC One which ended in September.



This is the view from a high rise table. The people standing in front are those with dining package viewing. In front of them, and down several steps, are the VQ wet zone viewers.



This picture gives an idea of how far back the dessert party sits and much the people in front obscure your view.

Bumping your post because I have a similar question.

We were debating the WOC dessert party vs. dining package, and for the price I decided to get an actual meal and book a WOC dining package. Our initial reservation window (for our March trip) opened up while Storyteller's was not accepting reservations, so we booked Wine Country for dinner. However, I just noticed that Storyteller's IS now acceptation reservations for our date. So I cancelled Wine Country and booked Storyteller's for dinner instead. Not having eaten at either one, my preference was for more options at a buffet and the to-go sweets at Storyteller's. My questions are...

1. Have I made a mistake in cancelling Wine Country for Storyteller's as far as food quality/reviews? It's my husband, myself, and tween daughter, so I thought more options would be beneficial.
2. Is the WOC dining package a mistake anyway? Like the OP, I don't see this option discussed very much. My thoughts were...I don't fancy getting wet while viewing (for VQ) , and while I would rather have a chair I just can't stomach the dessert party prices when you would still have to eat dinner somewhere too. But I am open to other opinions and options!
3. This is a refurbishment question, but since Storytellers has allowed me to make a dinner reservation for our date, am I to believe that they will actually be open at that time? Like I said, the dates were blocked out when my initial reservation window opened which is why I booked Wine Country instead. Do I need a back up reservation elsewhere just in case?

The premium for the WOC dining package really isn't worth the cost. You do not get anything more than a VQ. If you would not eat at either Wine Country or Storytellers I would cancel your reservation and just join the VQ at noon to view WOC.

If you want to treat yourself, I would do the dessert package. You can skip a full dinner and just have a late lunch or a small snack at dinner time. You get tons of cheese and grapes, along with crackers in addition to the dessert.

We did WOC dessert package during our last trip in 2023 and it was money well spent IMO. Being able to relax in an actual chair while being waited on was amazing. The picture of the desserts above doesn't make it look like a lot but it really is. We were eating the left-over desserts for the next couple days.

We are going back in May for my son's birthday and I am highly considering getting it again.
