WOC Dessert Party Table # with Pictures of view

It's not impossible to watch WOC without the dessert party, but the dessert party has a wonderful view and the best part—chairs. The desserts are good and you also get free beverages. It's a great way to get some relaxing down time after walking around the park all day, too. I find it worth it every time.
Thank you for your response.

I am still torn ~ I guess one reason is I don't care about seeing it, and I am comparing the value at WDW's Dessert Parties vs this, which isn't really a party. And I think even the WDW is overpriced. So you are literally paying $75 for a reserved chair (I'll give the minimal snacks and drinks a $15 value). And I've been reading reviews online and the minimal snacks and difficulty in getting more than one drink seems to have been a repeated complaint with the reviews.

So hard to do a last minute, just two park days trip to parks I've never been. Already not planning to ride anything that is cloned at WDW to save time. Lots to consider.

I've only done the dessert party to see WOC. From what I see and read, it's not hard to do stand-by or virtual que to see WOC. I am willing to pay more to have the reserved seating and the best view but I don't know if I would if I had limited time. Last time I did the 2nd party and went ahead and parked myself on the ground while the 1st party was checking in. You don't have to do this but I wanted a particular table and it was my step-daughter's graduation and first trip so I wanted to make it as special as possible. If you want a certain table, the waiting takes up a lot of time. There really isn't a "bad spot" so you don't need to go check in early. When you come back, you can be at the end of the group and still have plenty of time to get seated and eat/drink. Between check-in and the return time, we went and rode Guardians and Webslingers (one LL and one stand-by).

I wouldn't call the plate "minimal" by any means. Between myself, my husband, and my step-daughter, none of us finished our plates. It is a dessert party but I think there is a nice mix of sweet and savory (cheese and crackers). I've also never had a problem getting multiple drinks at either party I've been too.

Personally, as a treat/splurge, I think it's worth it for what you are getting. I do think you have to weigh out the time cost if you have a shorter visit though. You will still have to get there early to get a good spot for stand-by/virtual que...but I feel the wait for the party is the one drawback.

I know what you mean, it's a big expense. The main reason I do it is because I have a bad back and just can't stand around waiting for WOC. I also really like the desserts and the view. The dessert plate looks sort of paltry in the pictures but we never finish the whole plate, and they'll give you a to-go box. Service must really depend on which CM you get. We've always had good servers who came back multiple times to refill drinks etc.

You can get other dining packages where you eat at the restaurant earlier in the day and then get a voucher for where to stand to watch the show.

You are paying for a show with a seat

The desert and drinks are the icing on the cake. I find it very worth it and I’ve done it three times

Thanks all!

Key to enjoying your Disneyland vacation is to stop comparing it to WDW.
I think this is going to be the hard part. Been doing WDW since 1971. We have already decided to skip the fireworks over the castle. I know the castle will be let down for us, especially DS who has been to DLP. We only have two nights, and he really wants to do Fantasmic and if a chance to see the fireworks in GE.

Whole family was booked to DL in summer of 2020 ... AND that never happened. Since I've almost given up going, but ... a random trip opened up for 2 of us. My folks went when it was newly opened and I have all their home video which is awesome. I really want to go where they went. AND to see the things we don't have in WDW.

This has been very helpful. EVERY piece I read sounds like we will lose hours of our day, and with only two days there to get as much done as possible I don't want to be waiting around (especially for something I don't care about) for a very expensive chair.

We are used to MK Dessert Parties, Star Wars Dessert Parties, Epcot Dessert Parties so this is not what I would call a party. At those I would never be getting cheese, crackers, fruit .... I want to try all the pretty and fancy desserts. So that plate looks very "store bought" with maybe 4 desserts.

I also keep reading multiple places that if you are not one of the first let in (extra waiting) then you will likely not even get a second drink.

I guess it will depend on what DS wants to do and I'll just take the hit (he'll pay for his own) but I'd be okay with dining at a restaurant and get the voucher. At least we'd have a full meal. We are going to try for that with Fantasmic.

Thank you all for the input, it sounds much like I've read so we have to figure out how much time and money we want to lose.

YES that is my interpretation. So it's a very expensive seat. I think it would be totally different if it were Fantasmic, for me.

and he really wants to do Fantasmic and if a chance to see the fireworks in GE.
How familiar are you with the layout of Disneyland? You could view fireworks in SWGE and go to the second Fantasmic show. If you get a dining package for the second show, leave SWGE via the newly opened pathway through Bayou Country (past Rise). That will drop you off at Harbour Galley where the dining packages line up. If you want to do standby for the second show, you'll have to swim a bit upstream through the crowds. If that is your plan, let me know and I can talk you through it.

VERY UNFAMILIAR. Never been. Makes it harder that I can do every nook and cranny at WDW with my eyes closed - so been awhile since I had to think and really plan. We are trying for dining package for Fantasmic. DS wants to eat at Blue Bayou since he ate there at DLP. Of course he'll be comparing to his table along the water where Jack Sparrow walked up to join him .... no pressure to live up to that.

We can try booking in a couple weeks. This sounds like a good plan to do both.

THANK YOU! I'll come back to report what we were able to book. We open in a few weeks.

I don't know where you're reading, but this has never been the case in my experience. I had no problem getting my second drink and was not one of the first let in, and someone at my table even asked if she could have a third and the waiter gave her one. (I think that depends on inventory though, so would not bet on a third drink ever.) Our server was great and brought us our drinks, extra crackers, to-go boxes, etc and even checked on us right after the show to see if we needed anything. I understand my experience is not everyone's, but most of the people I know who have done it haven't had a single issue getting both of their drinks.

I do think you're going in to it being super biased AGAINST it, which may affect your experience even if it turns out to be a good one. (If that just made any sense. If it didn't, I apologize, I'm tired.) If you think you won't like it, go into it feeling that way, and even one thing is wrong, you probably won't be happy. Right? Gotta keep an open mind.

As others have said, one of the best things about WOC Dessert Party is having a place to sit for a while and not feel like you're shoved in like sardines and on your feet the entire time. I'm no longer 20 years old, so it's worth a premium to me to get a break from standing in tight crowds. (Plus, the desserts and drinks were great, IMO.)

I read some reviews from blog/blog/etc folks. One said they were third folks in and got two drinks ~ their tables mates were farther back in the line to enter and barely got one drink, and their food finally arrived as the show started.

The reason I suppose I am "bias" is that I have been to many night show dessert parties at WDW and disappointed that this is not similar. Same company, same basic night show, so I expected more. This is an expensive trip (my 2 day ticket will cost more than my WDW AP) and to spend well over $200 for two people for this is alot. But it is all good, I'm just trying to get some thoughts to merge with reviews so I can make good choices for us.

Everyone's budget is different. DCA closes at 10 pm. The second show begins at 10:15 and it is much easier to get good standby viewing for the second show. If you don't mind standing, that might be the best option for you.

We have watched WOC a few times, mostly via dessert party. However, the one time we really staked out a spot and got in the front row for the show…. Wow. In my opinion it blows away the experience of sitting in the chairs a ways back. But the experience of not needing to wait a long time and having a place to sit has kept bringing us back to the Dessert Party.

Just an aside, but maybe you could look into the River Belle Terrace premium package for Fantasmic, too. You get a dinner and dessert plus seats to watch the show, then you can watch fireworks right after. They show the projections on ROA.

I was gonna try to do dessert party on day of since wasn't sure what the weather was gonna be. But day of it wouldn't let me book. One thing I saw online reading an article was to book at Pixar lamp lounge around 745ish and then you can see world of color from there if you get an outside view.

Trying to make every minute count but really struggling with the cost of this and the small plate of desserts. Being a WDW Vet we are used to a dessert buffet. DS really wants to see WOC (myself don't really care about it) and I'm not sure the cost of this is justified. Is it really impossible to watch this show without spending big bucks or hours to get a spot? Can you view from any other area of park, yes I understand view not optimal.
Did you already take your trip?

We did the dessert party last night, went on some rides, then watched the second show from the bridge.

My favorite view is from the waterfront, but it requires you to arrive early and is not guaranteed. It is also more crowded. We were walking across the bridge and decided to watch the second show from there. I thought the view was quite good.

I've watched from the waterfront, from the dining package area, from the dessert party seats and from the bridge.

Although not quite as good as if you you are waterfront, I thought the view from the bridge was quite good.

That's a great view! Which show time was that, and when did you get your spot on the bridge? Did you wait long?

We love the dessert party and do it every trip but this would be a good way to watch WOC more than once but without the dessert party.

The second show starts at 10:15 pm. We had just gotten off of Incredicoaster when they announced that the park was closed, so I would estimate that we were walking over the bridge around 10:05 pm. Several people were taking pictures from the bridge, but very few were waiting for the show. When the show started, more people stopped and watched.

Notes from WOC dessert party

The cost is $70.79 per person. The $89 you pay includes tax and tip. This is important because many don't realize that 18% tip is included in the $89 fee.

We lined up to choose a table around 6:45 pm. The line up sign (teal circle on map) was on the opposite side of where the kiosk is set up (blue square on map). Initially, guests lined up behind the sign. When the CM arrived, she asked the line to move to stretch in the direction of Redwood Creek Challenge rather than the backside of Grizzly River Run (red arrows on map). I included a photo of the line up sign being on one side but while the kiosk was on the other. The other times I've done the dessert party, guests for the first show line up behind the kiosk to select their seats.

1725826179779.png 1725826329331.png

When we approached the kiosk, the CM asked if we wanted a high seat or a low seat. We asked her if table #27 was still available. She said that you can't select by number. You can ask for high or low seat, preference towards the center or to the side. She said that they change the numbers of tables regularly. We asked if we could see the map on her tablet and she said that it didn't correspond to where the seats were for the show. Eventually, she changed the screen and selected table 27 which showed the location that was shared earlier in this thread. Maybe it was just this CM or maybe they are moving away from allowing you to actually select which table you want.

Facing the water, table #26 was to our left. #31 was to our right. #24 was the low table directly in front of us
1725827600150.png

To the left of table 24 were low two tables (presumably 23 and 22) and then a single high table (maybe 21) followed by several low tables.

1725828024069.png

From 27, the placement of the pole didn't obscure our view. There are three sections of water projections and the pole was at the intersection rather than in the middle of a projection.

1725828440816.png

1725828551164.png

As you can see, there were several people standing with kids on their shoulders. At previous WOC that I've attended, CM told guests that they could not put their children on their shoulders. I don't know if the rules have changed or if it is CM dependent.

Picture of desserts - same as has been posted. The crackers were crumbled for everyone in our party. The broke crackers were so small, you couldn't fit cheese on them. My friend immediately asked for more crackers but was told that they had run out. Tonight is the last show before a break. Maybe they are using up the last few packages. :confused3

Note, the macaron is a "birthday macaron" from Disney 100. Disney 100 ended 11 mos ago! I wonder how long those macarons have been sitting in the fridge.

Thanks for the detailed post! That's a great view. A shame about the shoulder kids, though. I'm going to try from the bridge next time after you had such luck with that. I can never resist the dessert party, though so I'll probably do both :)
