WOC - Ariel's Grotto, Wine Country Trattoria or Picnic????

We did the picnic and got a bag for each one ordered (I don't know if the fact that they were all adult meals mattered?).

I thought the picnic was a decent deal. The food was pretty good and we got a decent spot (but I read up on where you should stand...near a railing, and to get there as soon as you are allowed).

I don't think living near Napa should place any emphasis on your decision, the Wine Country Trattoria is just another restaurant.

Have fun!

We've done WOC 2 times. First time with FPs from the WOC dining package at AGs. Second time getting Blue FPs in the morning when the DCA gates opened. Between the two we enjoyed the experience much more when we did the dining package. The reserved premium dining section is located in the best viewing location. While it's true you might still find people in front if you, the premium dining section was noticeably less crowded than what we experienced in the blue FP section. More room to move around was good for the kids when waiting nearly 1 hour for the show to begin.

If this is your first time to WOC, I suggest make it a special B-day event by doing the dining package. Afterall, you still have to eat dinner anyway so look at the incremental cost instead of the absolute cost of the dinner package. No matter what you decide on I recommend you get to the WOC area at least 30 minutes BEFORE the stated time on the FPs.

I'll add that if we ever want to watch WOC again, we probably won't do the premium dinner package because our family already experienced it once in a prime location. Next time we might try the picnic option.

Hello,

I am looking for suggestions on what Disney Dining Package we should go with for World of Color in March. We're going for our daughters 7th birthday and we are doing a Lunch @ Ariel's Grotto...so I am thinking that for the WOC Dinner is already out. Is it worth is to do the Wine Country Trattoria??? We live 1 hour from Napa...so I am thinking it may be lost on us.

Any suggestions are welcomed! I am even thinking of just getting in early to DCA (since we're staying at DLH), getting a "fastpass" and going to that secret spot in front of the Fire Hydrant!

Just a suggestion, so take it for what it's worth:

My wife and I did the dinner package at WCT last year and it was fantastic!
However, for a 7 year old it may be a little too drab. Maybe you could swap the lunch at Ariel's Grotto for lunch at Goofy's Kitchen and then do the Grotto for your WOC dining package.

Also, the picnic basket will always be the more economical choice. I was fortunate enough last year to have gone with my wife alone (for the first time without our three kids) and money was "less of an object". So we did some things that we usually don't do when our kids are with us (i.e. EVERY meal in the park, premier seating, etc.)

I'm taking the whole family back this summer, so I doubt I'll do the WCT dinner package again but, sadly, the wife hasn't COMPLETELY wiped it out of the possibility realm.

Good luck and have fun.

Honestly I don't think any of them are worth it. I would just head over to get fastpasses and then plan your dinner/lunch elsewhere.
