Hi. Our first stay at VWL is allmost here, May! My mom is recovering from a broken hip and will use a scooter this year. How often do boats that can accommodate a scooter run to MK from VWL? Thanks!!

All of the boats I have seen at VWL and elsewhere on property can accommodate a scooter. There are no special accessible boats. You must be able to transfer to get on board. No "driving on".

We were just there last week & there was a boat that they couldn't get a scooter on. I have no idea if it was the type of scooter, or the boat itself, but they had to wait for the next boat. We found the boats came very fequently. The longest we waited was 10 min. and that was only once. You're going to love WL!

There are two types of boats that run between the WL and MK, a large one that will take a scooter and the smaller one that will not. We would see the large one most often in the rush hours of park opening and closing. It would usually alternate between the two types of boats. So if you just missed the large boat you may have to wait another 20 minutes or more for the next one to show up.

This is true, but would add that WL is probably the best deluxe to stay in for anyone on a scooter. The elevators in the lobby (and in the other elevator bays throughout WL) are some of the fastest I've seen. It's almost never quicker to walk down a flight of steps at WL the way it can be, say, at the Polynesian.

It's kind of a "first world problem", but sometimes I wish the lobby elevators would slow down just a tad so I can take in the lobby a little more while I wait. ;)

Thank you for the info I know we can take the bus but I really want my boys to b e able to use the boats I k ow they will love them. I am glad it will still be an option
