Glad you enjoyed the pics! I took as many as I could. This is a great resort and one that I definitely intend to go back to (with codes or an AP rate). I had to wait a little bit for the room (was ready about 3:30pm), but totally worth it. I, too, sent a fax down requesting that specific room and was more than willing to wait for it. I can understand the doing away of faxes, since this must get inundating at times for the room assigners. I think if you get as specific as possible with CRO, then follow up a few days before directly with the Wilderness Lodge, you should have a half way decent chance of getting what you are looking for. I checked in around 11am, wandered through the resort, then plopped myself down into one of the lodge's comfy leather chairs and just soaked up the atmosphere while waiting for my ps at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. I saw alot of families taking pictures in front of tree to send with their holiday cards. I found it less crowded right at noon and around 3pm, but much busier at dinnertime. The food was tasty and hot and the service was excellent. They (as well as the rest of the restaurants at WDW) where very accomadating regarding substitutions of food. For example, I don't care for baked beans and had corn bread instead. The corn bread is soooooo good!!! After lunch, I headed for the bell desk, then back to luggage storage to grab my bathing suit & book, then headed for the pool. It was nice and relaxing to sit out in the sun and go for a swim. I found the staff here excellent and very friendly. Check-in was less than 5 minutes (compared to the 25 minute wait at CBR -- never again). I was going to ask to see one of the villas to take some pictures, but never got the chance. Next time.... There is a small balcony (I think there were like 4 chairs up there) on the 5th floor that looked straight onto the waterfall, pool and lake. Very quiet up there.
This is a great resort and very reasonable for a deluxe resort.
