Is it possible to fit in 5 people (2 adults, 15,10,4) in a room with 2 queens and a daybed? They say only 4 max, but with that option I can see fitting 5. Are the resorts strict on the 4 max rule or will they bend some? I'm trying to find out what my options are going to be. We really want to stay at a deluxe resort, but not pay the price for a suite or two rooms. I'm grateful for any help I can get.

Thanks,
Laura

I have stayed in a standard view , woods view, courtyard view and a deluxe courtyard view rooms and there has never been a day bed... either 2 queens or 1 king or a queen with bunk beds.. I am not sure if there are any other room types that have a day bed there.

WL rooms do not accommodate more than 4 people; only 2 queen beds or 1 queen and 1 set of bunks. You would be looking at getting a junior suite at WL (not part of WLV incidentally). As you say, you don't want to pay for a suite, therefore your best option is either two standard connecting rooms (this is a less expensive deluxe so possibly an option) or an alternative deluxe such as Poly, CR or the likes.

Oh also I think the rooms at the Beach club have a day bed but it is more expensive than the WL. ALso you could get two rooms at Port Orleans Riverside ... this is what we do when we have the whole family of 5 and we love to have 2 bathrooms and all the space.

Hi,
You will find 2 queens and a daybed at the Polynesian. We were a party of five, with three kids, 12,9,4. It was quite comfortable. Hope this helps.

When Disney says 4 people for the room, they mean it. When you check in or make your reservation they ask for the names and ages of all in the room. We have a family of 5, my kids were 20, 17 and 13 this last spring when we went. We booked a room at Port Orleans Riverside that would accomodate the 5 of us. There were two doubles with a trundle bed (small bed that pulls out from under one of the beds). It worked out great, both my 20 year old and my 13 year old shared nights on it. My 17 year old son is 6'2" and there is NO way he would fit on it.

You also have to take into account how close your family is and do they mind sharing a room with everyone in it. At Port Orleans Riverside that bathroom and shower are in one room and then there are two sinks and closet/dressing area that has a pull curtain to separate it off from the rest of the room. That was great for us! The trick is to keep the room somewhat tidy and there was no problem with all of us in the same room.

Your other choice is the cabins in Fort Wilderness, albeit more expensive than Port Orleans. We have done those also, there is a lot of room in them and of course you can use the kitchen facilities then.

It has been a pet peeve of mine for years that Disney is not set up with some good deals and rooms for families of 5.

Good Luck!

I think the Animal Kingdom Lodge has some rooms that sleep five that have the daybed. Also, the Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk Inn, Poly, Contemporary, and Grand Floridian have the daybed rooms.

If your heart is set on the Wilderness Lodge, maybe you could get a two bedroom over in the villas. Either rent points or try to get an AP discount.

Good luck.
