Just got home TODAY...we got "the room". #5034...
Had a view of Wishes EVERY night and could see the castle ALL the time...
It was wonderful.
Hotel was sooo nice, just like I remember from 10 years ago...

Any questions?

It's actually a woods view room, that's the room I wanted a few years ago when we stayed, but we got 5030 instead and we were just a bit too far to the right to see the castle. We were right by the elevators and it was unfortunately a very noisey room. I think your room was off to the left almost behind the elevators so you didn't get that same noise...I'm jealous, but glad you had a great stay! :teeth:

Thanks for writing! We're going to WL in Aug. Any tips/advice on how to get a great room like you did? I would love to have a view of the castle and get to see Wishes every night from our balcony!

Also, how was the transportation? Did you use ME?

Also, did you eat breakfast at Roaring Forks? How were the crowds? Were you a flag family?

We just got back and had room 6032 it was awesome, couldn't directly see the castle but could see Wishes perfectly. We were right by the elevator but found it extremely quiet.

How exciting! Yeah! :) I'm glad you had a great trip!

DW and I had room 5032 last Dec. and also had the great view of the castle and wishes. Just ask for the room number you want when making reservations with CRO and you might get it. If you don't ask they don't know what you want. I do ask for specific rooms by number and have had good luck with my request.

WE are booked for two rooms this time. I wonder if I would have any success asking for a specific room number?

We were at the Lodge in May and had requested a woodsview, but when we arrived to check-in they gave us an upgrade to courtyard. Are there any courtyard rooms that also have views of Wishes and the castle?

Also OP with room 5034, were there any trees at all in front of you? Could you sit out on your balcony and see any of the boats going back and forth?

Thanks!

I'm glad you had a good time. My family loves the Wilderness Lodge! It is gorgeous- the last time we stayed there we split our trip by staying offsite 4 nights, and then we switched over to the WL the last two nights. Those last 2 nights were the highlight of our trip! I didn't think I'd ever fall in love with a resort. I wish we could have stayed there the whole time!

We didn't have a clear view of the passage way for the boats. We did have trees in the viewing line. There seemed to be a part of the trees cut out just for that room to see the castle.
I don't recall requesting the room # we got, but we made our reservations back in September thru Small World Travel and I may have mentioned it to my TA, but I really am not sure.
You cannot see Wishes or the fireworks from a courtyard view or from a woods view on the other side of the building. There are actually 2 woods views you can get...MK side and the WL Villas side.
We ate tons at Roaring Springs Cafe...The sandwiches were so good, already made up for you, you just add the condiments you like. I really liked the chicken salad one...not too goopy...
The only breakfasts we had from there were cereal and milk. We ate in our room for b'fast. I would recommend bringing some cereal in your luggage if you eat that...it is very expensive.... single serve cereal and small milk ran $2.99. And banana's were 99 cents a piece.
We did get the refillable mugs and got our $'s worth there...The cashier did tell us that you can refill them at ANY resort now...just not in the parks. So if we had gone to the other resorts then that would have been great, but we filled in the am, carried in the backpack and refilled each time we came back and left again...which we took breaks each day so that did work out...a drink will run you $2.29 so the mug pays for itself in 6 refills plus you get a nice souvineer.

YEAH!!!! I love  The WL. Glad you had a great view and a wonderful trip. Thanks for sharing.

Any room that allows you to see the castle from your window is definitely a magical room, I can't imagine how magical that made the whole stay!! Congrats! I hope you had a wonderful adventure! DH and I hope to stay at WL one day, hopefully the money fairy will send a little pixie dust our way! LOL! Until then, values and mods for us!

Anybody have a room that had a view of Castle, or at least Wishes, AND have BUNKBEDS..............????????????????? Would really know what to shoot for when we get there in 11 days !! We have a "woodsview" room booked.

:cool1:

TheresaNY, ask CRO to put on your reservation that you would like a room overlooking the Otter Pond (North wing, I believe) with bunkbeds. The 4th or 5th floors would be the best. Good luck.

Did have the views you mentioned, but no bunkbeds that we wanted. WE could have changed rooms to get the bbeds but didn't and the trade off was worth it...Don't know if that was Otter Pond below us or not...didn't see any otters, but tons of bunnies and raindrops! :umbrella:

We did, although I forget the room number (can you believe that? and it's only been since January!). Seems to me it was 5016. They are available, but I was told there aren't very many of them... Good luck, and have a great trip! :earsboy:
