My sister does not arrive until tomorrow so I am alone for now.

The airports were not very crowded but check in was terribly long. I am not sure why it is so slow to tell you the truth. I travel all the time and this is just plain slow. Arrive 2-3 hours early. The security line was also long, about 15 minutes. I am used to walking up and going through so this is a change. Keep you ID's close, you need it everywhere! Check in, security, car rental, and now they are checking your ID's at the gate of the property hotels when you check in. I like it, but just remember it or you will be scrambling to find your's when it is needed.

Check in took about 20 minutes. There were only two CM's working. I asked for a non-smoking but they gave me a smoking. This seems to happen a lot when I visit down here. I dunno why. Anyway, the rooms smells fine so I just stayed. I called housekeeping and the delivered a min-fridge in 15 minutes. After I'm done with this, I will go grocery shopping. I have not explored yet but from what I can tell, it is beautiful.

Oh, I rented a car from National and I am an Emerald Club Member so that was uneventful. I just got my bags, went downstairs, picked out a car, and showed my card to the gate person. That is it. It took about 5 minutes! I did not check to see how long the normal line was at National. I forgot to.

The drive down takes about 30 minutes and there are two toll's for a $1 each on the road down (hwy 417). I think there is another way to go but this is the way the signs lead you (imagine that).

It does not seem very crowded, at least on the roads and in the hotel. I will know more tomorrow when I go to Epcot.

Until then... Adios

MDF!

Thanks for the tip about keeping ids handy. I wouldnt have thought about that. Hope your stay is great.:)

Another note on ID's... I received my car pass from the Gate Guard this time, not the person who checked me in. This is new.

Also, I went to buy some groceries and Goodings was packed. The checker told me that things are now back to normal or busier than before. That leads me to believe that a lot of cancelled vacations resumed this week.

When I returned to WL, I was driving up to the Gate Guard with my parking pass in the window (just like before) but now they stop you and match your ID (yes, ID AGAIN) to the parking pass. Once again, I do not mind, I just wanted you all to know that you have to make sure to keep it handy and DO NOT LOSE IT!!!!

I met a friendly Brittish fellow (young, maybe 25) who is visiting the States with his wife and some friends for the first time. We got to talking and he told me that he was very interested in watching the World Cup soccer match on Saturday (not surprising) but he also told me that the Brittish people as a WHOLE are behind the US 100% on the terrorist hunt. It was very reassuring to listen to him. It just shows that we are not alone out here. I told him that we all thought Tony Blair was a hero! He really is a cool guy. Anyway, I told him he had to go to Pleasure Island with his friends. He is supposed to meet me in the bar on Saturday to go with me and my sister.

I forgot to mention that my sister and I are going on an Illuminations Cruise and I have been a pen pal with two families who are going to join us (the boat seats 12 and I did not want to hog it all for my sister and I). I met them all on the DIS boards so I am very excited to meet them and their children. I will let you know how it went.

I am having dinner in my room at the WL tonight. I went to the snack bar and got a Turkey Sandwich and a bag of chips. I must say, the Turkey is very good (it came in the plastic container also) and the chips are unbelieveable... really. The brand is Bravos (never heard of it) and it is actually full... YES, full of chips. Not just air, but actual chips. I am now a Bravo fan :) While I was going back to my room I stopped at the bar and grabbed a drink to go with me to my room. The bartender was very friendly and so were the wait staff. I think I am going to like it here at the WL.

Good Night,

MDF
