We are looking at traveling in June. It would be DW, DS (17), DS (15), and me. We can stay at WL for $450 cheaper than BC lagoon or pool view. Please give your thoughts for each resort.

WL only has 2 queen sized beds there is no couch that converts. Can your boys share at that age? If not go to the beach Club with the extra bed.

Not all rooms at BC have the daybed. You can request it but it's not guaranteed! You can, however, book a bunk bed category room at WL if the bed situation is a concern.

I love both, but the theming is very different between the two. BC feels more upscale, light & airy & hustle & bustle. WL is more rustic, dark, casual & serene. Service at both is great.

WL has a dedicated CS, BC does not, however there are a ton more dining options in the BC area - BC, YC, BW, Swan, Dolphin plus Epcot right next door.

I consider the transportation better at BC - only because you can walk to 2 parks - you can't wait to any from WL. Both have boat & bus service as well.

You can't go wrong with either!

I think it all depends on how much you want to spend for your vacation. Both resorts have a lot to offer. WL has easy access to MK, with a dedicated bus and the option of the boats. BC has a great location with Epcot a short walk away and HS a short boat ride away. WL has counter service. BC's options are more limited. BC's room's are a little bigger and if you get a room with a daybed it would be nicer for your sons than sharing a bed at WL. Not all the rooms at BC have a balcony, whereas all of WL's rooms do. The pool at BC can't be beat.

Both resorts are good. We are choosing WL for this trip over the BC because we plan to spend a lot of time at MK with our grandchildren. You can't go wrong with either resort. :)

We've stayed at both and they are both great resorts. The BC rooms are slightly larger than the rooms at the WL and some of the rooms come with a daybed. But as the pp said, not all rooms do, so that would have to be a request and would not be guaranteed. The themes are very different between the two, but we love both. The only negative against the BC (for us) is the lack of CS options. The WL has Roaring Forks, which is great for quick meals and snacks. But as far as TS options go, they both have a great variety of sit down dining options that are close and easy to get to. Good luck deciding, but you really can't go wrong with either resort as they are both great places to stay.

The boys have no problem sharing a bed.

"Dedicated CS"?

Meaning WL has an actual Counter Service location - Roaring Forks, for all quick meals. BC has no CS at the resort. They do have a "Marketplace" inside their store for pastries, sandwiches, drinks but not actual meals. All restaraunts at BC are Table Service.

Thanks.

I would vote for BC because of SAB pool, and the Epcot location. If it were in December, I would probably pick WL due to their beautiful holiday decorations. We almost always stay at Epcot because we like to walk to HS and Epcot. Are you getting park hoppers? That might make a difference too. The advantage to the Epcot resorts is that we very often pop in to Epcot for food and drinks.

Your kids being older would love the BC pool. And the hustle/bustle of walking around Boardwalk area, etc. Perfect area for older kids. WL is secluded and less exciting.

We will be there 6/8 - 6/15. We are getting park hopper tickets with water park option. We are driving down so transportation is not a huge concern.

My boys are not small by any means. The older is 6'3" 280 and younger is 5'4" 190. Any problems on rifing the slide or other pool amenities?

Do you notice the crowd since the pool is shared by 2 resorts?

Thanks again for all the input.

The pool at BC is always very crowded. In order to keep non-BC/YC guests out they have a strict wrist band policy. It is pretty difficult to find a lounge chair at times.:crazy2:

As far as the pool amenities go, they can use it no matter their size. The DH is 6'4 and 230 and he uses the slides with no issues.:thumbsup2

With the sizes of those boys, I'd not recommend the bunk bed option at WL. ;)

Also, with their ages they may prefer EPCOT and DHS to MK. It's nice to be able to walk or boat to those 2 parks. The buses to MK and AK are fine, though they are shared with other EPCOT area resorts.

We never noticed the SAB pool to be all that crowded, and we were there in August. Yes, 2 resorts share it, but it is a huge pool area.

Actually, if you go on a day in the off-season when the high doesn't get above 60, it isn't very crowded :rotfl:(we had SAB virtually to ourselves - and yes, they still did the wristbands).

But, otherwise, your point is well taken.

You'll love it! Why not made an ADR for Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL, or just go walk around over there to check it out, then you'll get a feel for the theming of that resort for future reference.
