I've heard of people asking for this at check-in?

Is it ever free? Or how much does it cost? How does this work???

Nope the upgrade to concierge isn't free, and you may only upgrade if it is available (it isn't always) The price is contingent on several other factors as well, Season and Type room booked...ect...A Standard View Room would cost more to upgrade then a Courtyard View Room, Regular/Peak Seasons would cost more then Value Season.

Hope this helps.

So if I'm in a courtyard view room already, and ask for an apgrade - what would the possibilities be? A deluxe only? (I thought perhaps concierge would be an option).

If a deluxe is the only option what would the difference be between a deluxe room and a courtyard room? - the size? I don't want to end up with a woodsview - even if it's a bigger room. I really want a view of the lake/pool area.

I'm really interested in the answer to this one.

Thanks!
Brando

Let's see in December (Regular Season) I asked at check-in for all three:

Standard View= $70.00 additional per night
Woods View=$60.00 additional per night
Courtyard View=$50.00 additional per night

While you may be offered a Deluxe room, (I don't think so) I wouldn't ever count on that because there are so few of this type room they book early and sleep six so the guest that resurve them need the additional sleeping space.

Conciege would be an option but at a cost.

I always book what I'll be happy with or without an upgrade. So if you really want a view of the lake/pool make sure that's what you book, also the Courtyard View may overlook the quiet pool of the Villas, if you want to overlook the main pool Siver Creek Springs request an Inner Courtyard View.

Thanks - I did request a certain block of rooms on either the 5th or 4th floor that I know are inner-courtyard. I had heard about the quiet pool by the villas now being considered a "courtyard" view and called right away. I know we'll be very happy with our courtyard view - but thought I'd ask about upgrade options - just in case....At least I know we'll have the exact view we really want and I don't think $192.00 incl. tax per day - is too bad either! (I hope!)

What exactly is the difference with concierge exactly anyway? I know there is food - I'm wondering what else makes it so special? Do you receive a turn-down service and paper? I really want to know what you get for the extra $$. Is the service that much better?

Thanks,
Brando :wave2:

I actually can pull together coherent sentences - just don't know what’s wrong with me today! TGIF! :rolleyes1

I am going in a few weeks- and really want a good view because I am taking a baby and will be in our room a lot! I am paying the courtyard view rate at $192.00.

I want a view of the lake and pool area- not the quiet area and heard you can ask for a courtyard view- but if you know of a certain block of rooms that have a good view,- could you please let me know?? Thanks!

This is what is listed as the "best views" in the Unofficial Guide and what I used to base my request for a main courtyard view room on either the 5th or 4th floor:

For direct lakeview choose room numbers:
4000-4003, 4166-4169
5000-5003, 5166-5169
6000-6003, 6166-6169

For Main Pool & Lakeview choose odd numbered rooms as follows:
4005-4023, 4147-4165 *(odd numbered rooms only within this range)
5005-5023, 5147-5165 *(odd numbered rooms only within this range)
6005-6023, 6147-6165 *(odd numbered rooms only within this range)

FYI: I've been told the 6th floor rooms have the "solid" style balconies that you must be standing to see out of and most everyone seems to prefer the open type balcony over this type so stay with the 5th or 4th floor for optimal views.

Thanks a lot for the info!! We will be arriving on 2/26/05. I cannot wait!!!
