This is our first time being on-site --- staying at WL. Haven't been to DW in over 20 years (when I was a kid).

We will not be renting a car and after reviewing your post, found when taking the bus transportation to theme parks, some people have stated the length of time can be over 45 minutes. I do understand the ferry to MK, but could you take the ferry and then use other transporation at MK to other parks (monorail for example) to speed this up - or just stay with the bus at our resort.

I've never stayed at WL - but from all the other resorts we've stayed at we have found the bus or boat transportation to be excellent.

IMO trying to switch to different modes of transportation would actually be slower.

I believe from WL you would use the monorail for MK or Epcot and buses for any other parks.

Have a great time onsite!

WL has a boat that goes directly to MK and it is the fastest way to get there. WL has busses that go to the other parks and trip is fairly smooth and nowhere near 45 minutes most of the day (usually under 30). You can get 45 minutes or longer either because there is a problem (a bus broke down) or when leaving a park at closing -- you may have to wait in line for the second, third, fourth, etc., bus before getting one.

Wilderness Lodge has a wide variety of transportation options.

There is a boat to Fort Wilderness, Contemporary, as well as a boat to the Magic Kingdom. There is also a bus to the Transportation and Ticket Center where you can catch a monorail to the Magic Kingdom or Epcot.

There are also buses that run to Epcot, the Disney-MGM Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Blizzard Beach, Downtown Disney, and Typhoon Lagoon. All buses are scheduled to run every 15-20 minutes, and more frequently if demand warrants.

The best way to get to the MK and the MK resorts is to take the boat launch to either the MK or the Contemporary. If going to Epcot, you have the option to take the monorail to the TTC from the Contemporary.

Everywhere else in the World you'll need a bus. It's been a few years since I"ve stayed at the WL, but I understand that buses come with greater frequency now - perhaps as a response to guest complaints.

We have stayed at WL several times. Never had any problems with the buses. Use the ferry for the Magic Kingdom and take the ferry to the Contemporary to board the monorail and transfer at the transportation center for Epcot. We used the bus for Animal Kingdom and MGM and never had a problem.

You will love WL...its our favorite. Would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

WL is our very favorite resort. We've stayed there many times and have never had any problems at all with the bus transportation. We didn't feel it was any more problematic than any of the other resorts we have stayed at. Also, we LOVE the boat to the Magic Kingdom. What a wonderful, peaceful way to start your morning. I know that lots of others seem to have trouble with the transportation at the WL, however, that has never been our experience. I will say, though, that we tend to visit at less crowded times of the year, so that may have something to do with it.

We just returned on Saturday, stayed at WL and never had a long wait for bus or boat transportation. Boats came promptly every 15 min if not quicker. We waited about 20 min on a bus to MGM that was our longest wait.

Transportation was terrific during our Sept (slow season) trip. Most of the time the bus/bus wait was 5-10 minutes or less.
