Just a little curious. I not that picky with views, just dont want a view of a parking lot lol. Is the Woods or Courtyard view worth the extra money?

My perspective on this one has changed. We were at WL for 2 nights a couple weeks ago and booked standard view. It just didn't seem worth it to me to spend extra money for the better view.

When we checked in we were told that we were eligible for a free upgrade to Courtyard View! (I had always heard of these legendary upgrades, but didn't think I would ever get one!)

The view was very cool. We had an awesome view of the main courtyard/pool and Bay Lake. You could see the Electrical Water Pageant from the balcony.

I think if I were staying for more than a couple of days and planned to spend considerable time at the resort that I would get the Courtyard view. The only possible drawback is that you could get one of the Courtyard views that face the villas. While that's ok, it doesn't seem nearly as cool as the main courtyard.

We just returned from the WL and had an inner courtyard view. It was wonderful!! We were on the 5th floor and could see part of the Wishes fireworks and the view of Bay Lake and the electric light parade was great! In my opinion that is way better than the loading dock:rotfl:

I've never really cared about a room view, but after staying at WL and having a courtyard view, I am spoiled! :) Definitely worth it if you can swing it.

Do you have any pics of the courtyard view? I would love to see them.

I'm glad you here you all love the Courtyard view. That is what I booked for our upcoming trip! I stayed at the WL DVC Villas 2 years ago thinking it would be a good view but it ended up being nothing but trees. :lmao: Still very nice but I would like to see some sort of action!

Not all courtyard views are the "inner" courtyard. I wouldn't pay for it again.

We have a standard view booked for our July trip. They are sold out now... so i'm crossing my fingers that they are overbooked when we arrive and that we get an upgrade! :)

I never pay extra for views - I'd rather spend my money on something else. My dad is the opposite - he goes crazy if he can see parked cars :scared1:

I was very happy with my AKL standard view so I booked the same at WL. A pic of my view there was at the beginning of the very long "worst room view pics" thread, which is still going on 4 years later! It was the roof and a/c units...we couldn't even see the trees past it. Why would anyone sit on that balcony? This was Xmas time so the inn was full. We kept the room and also kept the shades drawn the entire trip. Meanwhile my parents were in a courtyard view. It was beautiful - they could see the pool, the boats coming in... we would all cram onto their balcony at night. If you can afford it at all, it's worth the cash at WL.

We had standard view, north wing. Yes, if we looked down we saw the service area. But each night we could look across to MK and see Wishes. Our son loved it!!

I've stayed standard view at WL about 5 times and have never had a bad view. I guess it's just luck of the draw. We've had good views of trees (with the MK fireworks high above) a few times. Directly below the balcony was a loading dock, but unless you leaned over the balcony to look down, you didn't see it and never would have known it was there.

The last time we were facing the pathway that goes from the beach to the villas. It was pleasant.

Here are some pics from our courtyard view room (6351) two weeks ago:
