Hi all, we just booked a very last minute New Years trip and booked 2 rooms at the WL-standard view rooms.
I have 2 questions... First, looking at a Disney map, it looks as if the Standard View rooms on the North Wing do not start until the 4th floor. Can someone tell me if this is correct?

Secondly, can anyone confirm if there are CONNECTING rooms available anywhere (North or South Wing) in the standard view block of rooms? We would like connecting rooms, if possible.

Thanks so much for all of the info I have gained about the WL. We have not stayed there since 2004.

I know that the standard view rooms above the lobby are on the fourth floor. Here is a link to the room map on the Wilderness Lodge Facts thread.

These are the standard rooms in the north wing. The top floor with the dormer balconies is club level. So it does look like the first floor of standard view rooms on the north side begin on the fourth floor.

Yes, in the areas where the Standard rooms are located in either the North or South wing the rooms begin on the 4th floor. In the South wing some meriting rooms and the checkin desk are below there and in the North wing it is a service area behind the restaurants.

I can confirm that there are connecting standard view rooms in the South wing above the checkin desk. We did well booking Standard view and requesting connecting rooms, and actually wound up with rooms that were classified as Woods view since they were in the same area but on the 6th floor. The lower floors there do have connecting doors though.

Enjoy your trip, it is a wonderful resort.

They are listed as Woods View on the map, but when we checked in 6084 and 6085 were connecting and we were told they were standard view.

Lacoccinelle;52620268, did you like the rooms? Since they are right off the lobby, were they noisy?

Thanks everyone for all the info!!

I loved the rooms. We could see the fireworks from our balcony perfectly. You could see the woods and part of the service area if you looked down. You heard the occasional KETCHUP! But other than that quiet. We were in Courtyard 4127 and 4129 last year and it was so loud with the pool party and the whistle from the boat and the light parade. We much preferred this. And we were so close to the elevator and on the same side as Roaring Forks so drinks were easy to get, we just walked though the floor to that elevator and went down to exit to the boat too. There was a staircase that took us right down to a nice sitting area with a fireplace too.

We loved 6093 and 6094, which are connecting rooms on the South side of the lobby. The balcony view is towards the bus stop, which we enjoyed in the mornings and the view into the lobby is awesome. While some others prefer a quieter location, we never had any problem with the noise and could only ever hear anything in the room at peak dinner times, when we usually were not there. The next year we had 6096, which connects to 6095 and is right next door. We wouldn't hesitate at all to request a room that opens to the lobby.

Wilderness Lodge has a lot of woods and courtyard view rooms, but not that much standard view rooms.

you should request north wing, but if your request is not fulfilled, please be aware that all you can see in a standard view room in the south wing is roof! roof peaks or a wide spread roof. This is like "no view".

4th floor open to lobby (south side) is standard view, floor 5 is already woods view.

There are pictures on this boards of the roof peaks. That must be one of the worst views of all Disney Resorts.
