Ok. After much thought I changed my ressie from POR to WL. The only thing negative (that concerns me) about WL, that I have read, is regarding bus service. When I changed resorts I asked to CM if WL shared a bus with ANY other resort and was told no. Is some of what I'm reading old? Does it share a bus with other resorts? We will have a car as we have had in the past but have hardly had to use it (only for resort hopping) when we stayed at POR. Where would I be better off driving myself? How does catching a bus to Epcot compare to taking boat to CR, then to TTC for Epcot monorail? Any big time difference? Thanks for some correct, updated info!!

there are soem shared routes, but i beleive it depends on the time of the day and the number of guests on property.

i just got back from 4 nights at the WL and i absolutely loved it. As far as your question about the trip to epcot - if you are going at peak times, you might get a bus directly from WL to Epcot. Or you might get a bus that stops briefly at the grand floridian. Either way, you will get to Epcot much, much quicker by bus than by boat (unless by ysome stroke of magic, when you get to the dock, the boat is there and leaves immediately, and you get to the contemporary and do not have to wait for a monorail and when you get to the TTC you do not have to wait. Then, you might get there at the same time as the bus.)

i never found stopping at the GF to be time consuming or a hassle, since it is in the direction the bus has to go anyway.

Not to mention, there are 5 stops at the Port Orleans complex, so a bus trip would take much longer and be more of a hassle from PO.

Have just come back from 3 nights at WL + 3 at AKL. No problems with the bus service from WL - shared route with GF but wasn't a hassle as WL was first pick up and first drop off. Only long wait we had was 30 mins for a bus from AKL to MGM.
Have fun

We take the boat and catch the monorail to Epcot. We do the same thing for MGM, just walk through Epcot. In September we stopped at Poly and GF on the way to AK.

Wilderness Lodge will share with Grand Floridian for AK and DTD, as well as the Studios in the morning. WL will share with Fort Wilderness for Epcot, Studios in the afternoon, and Magic Kingdom (via boat).

WL is usually the first stop both ways.

Just a FYI, ALL resorts, with the exception of AKL and Pop, either share or have multiple stops. AKL because of it's location, it's not feasible to share and Pop because it is so large. Look at this group, BC/YC/BWI/Swan/Dolphin, all share 1 bus route.

We found the transportation wonderful at WL, even better than our stays at CR.

Tha majority of the time, they are split up. It's only for DTD mornings and early afternoons, as well as DAK afternoons. MK is always split, DAK is split in the morning, and DTD splits in the evening.

for all your answers and to whoever moved my original post. I new someone would be able to answer this for me!:teeth: I am planning on just giving the bus a try and if it's unbearable we can take the car. We usually stay at POR so we are used to the multiple stops. I just wondered how that compared to actually going to a different resort to make a stop. Thanks again!

Maybe I'm rehashing what has been said, but here goes. We have stayed at WL several times and how I go to EPCOT from the WL depends on the time of day/night and the hurry I'm in. All three ways start with a bus. I believe the fastest trip to Epcot from WL is the Epcot bus. It makes a brief stop at either FW or GF(I can't remember), then on to Epcot. The next fastest way would be the bus from WL to TTC and then take the Epcot monorail. My favorite way to Epcot from WL is to take the MGM bus to the studios and then take the boat from MGM to the International Gateway at Epcot. This way is slower and you are limited by the shorter hours at MGM, but I really enjoy the boat rides, especially sitting outside on the boat.

We have stayed at other WDW resorts and have found the WL transportation to be as good if not better than the others. The boats take you to MK, CR and FW. From the MK you can take the resort monorail, buses to other resorts or the boat to GF and Poly. From the CR the resorts monorail is available. The WL buses go to AK, MGM, Epcot, DTD, TTC and the water parks. WL and FW are the only two WDW resorts that are served by the TTC. From the TTC you can take the ferry to MK or the Epcot monorail or resorts monorail. I'm sure I have left something out, but I think your choices are very good at the WL.
