I'm thinking of booking the WL on the Visa room discount in June. I hope you can give me some information about the rooms. Are they in good shape or is it starting need rehab? Is the lodge starting to show signs of wear? Is parking a problem? We will be driving in about mid-day. How does the pool slide compare to other resorts? Is it decent for DS who is 13? Going to a new hotel always makes me nervous because I don't know what to expect, so I really appreciate any help you can give me.

I have stayed in several different rooms at the Lodge and I can assure you they were all clean and had no signs of wear. (This includes 5th floor, 6th floor, and 3 rooms on the 7th floor)

You should visit the Wilderness Lodge FAQ thread to ask others too. I am sure I am not the only one who can or will answer.

As for the pool, I think it is fun even though some say it is a bit small. The slide looks great to me but I can't say I have ridden it considering I would probably get stuck going down!! :) ::yes::

Parking is great. I have never had a problem. It is a short walk regardless of where you park.

I am pretty confident you will enjoy your stay at WL. It's a great resort hotel and most say it is a vacation away from Disney. The atmosphere is very relaxing.

If you need anything further, just ask. :)

Stressa, we stayed in the Villas last summer and will go again this summer. My kids loved both pools. The main pool is big and the Villas "quiet" pool is smaller. Just don't expect a "thrill" slide. Th main pool does have a slide, but it is short and tame. My little guy (5) went down about a million times. It is not a steep slide with tons of steps. There is also a pretty beach with a great marina with boats for rent, and a nice pool bar with fluffy drinks and snacks. We had a wonderful time and are excited to go back.

The lodge and our room was wonderful during our stay in Sept. No wear 'n tear at all.

Parking - no idea, we had no car.

Pool - wondeful; slide is much faster than it looks!!

Check out my pictures below!

Enjoy your stay! We loved ours!

I stayed at WL in 1997, 1998 and then again last May. My room looked as fresh as it did back in 1997!!!

As a DVC Member at The Villas @ Wilderness Lodge, and a frequent guest of Wilderness Lodge I'm always on the look out for the condition of both Resorts as I do have quite a large investment in my DVC property. While I'm sure there are small issues that occur I have never seen any apparent signs of wear at either.

We usually use valet parking at the Lodge, but the general parking is adequate and better (closer) then some other deluxe resorts.

My nieces and nephews all love the pools at WL oldest now being 19 years old but he did enjoy the slide when he was your son's age.

We all love the Wilderness Lodge and I'm sure you and your family will have a great trip.
