I've read that WL pool is very full and hard to find a spot to sit. Has anyone gone in April and if so what was it like? Is the slide to fast for a crazy 2 year old? And what room is the best to get facing the main pool. thanks

While I haven't been to the WL in April, we were there last year for 4th of July, and although it was busy, we never had a problem finding a chair around the pool. And, we didn't find the pool that crowded - my DD LOVED the slide - she must have went down it a hundred times!!!

It is a fast slide, and your 2 yr old may have a problem when he/she gets to the water -there's a little bit of a "whirlpool" there and it takes you under. And the lifeguards don't let you stand right at the end of the slide. You can stand off to the side a little, but you still may have a problem catching them when they first hit the water. If your child can swim, it might not be a problem!! (There is also a little kiddy pool too)

Hope you have a great time at WL - it is a beautiful resort. Our room was on the 5th floor, and it did overlook the pool. Sorry, I can't remember the room # though.

We were there in April '02. Generally speaking, there were more ducks in the pool than people.

We've been to WL in May and November and never had a problem getting a front row chair (of course, we swam later in the evening...but we never saw many people there at all and our room faced the pool). We were in room 4135 which had a decent view of the pool and pond.

Just got back Friday from WL and there was no problem getting chairs at the pool that I could tell, though during the late afternoon/early evening hours before dinner it might be. There is the kiddie pool and two hot tubs, as well. Was also there last August, and though crowded, the pool still seemed to have chairs available most times of the day.

We always go at the end of June, which I believe is supposed to be a really crowded time and we have never found the pool to be overly crowded. We would swim at all times of the day and never had a problem finding a chair after a minute or two. Hope you enjoy the Lodge. :flower:

We were just there (WL) two weeks ago over Easter and didn't find the pools to be overly crowded. I would think late April would be a perfect time for Disney. You should be fine.

thanks for your input. Does anyone have a great room number that looks over the pool that they would like to share. i know it's some where on the board (pictures of the views from the room but can't find it)

5001 was wonderful. No one above us and our room faced the lake so we saw the electric light parade and Wishes! We were there in March and the pools were very crowded.

We went the last week of April/First week May in 2003 -- since it wasn't easter week, and most of the spring breaks are over, it was nice. except for the weekend, which I think is more crowded no matter what, it was not too busy, and we were able to get a couple of chairs in the middle of the day, and we were not scared out of the pool or hot tub because of all of the kids. this is a good time to go, good temps. We would go again during this time if it is not easter week. :mickeybar
