I am heading for Orlando for business late September and my wife and three year old are coming along. This will be our first WDW trip. I can get 2 nights with american express points at either the Wilderness Lodge w/ Courtyard view or SWAN with Deluxe Balcony resort view.

Any suggestions?

I say WL. They have a great kiddie pool ares, being Sept. I am not sure if you are swimming, however they also have a bus that takes you to Fort Wilderness where they have a petting zoo and pony rides. Plus WL has direct transportation by boat to the MK.

We were just wondering if it is worth being close to Epcot, MGM, Boardwalk to save a little time, since we only have the 3 days, 2 nights. We would need to take a few breaks for the little one.

I would do the Swan. You can walk to epcot and mgm and we all know how much 2 year olds like to walk. Boardwalk is great for toddlers, and at night it is really nice. And if you can get a deluxe with balcony, you'll have a great view of the fireworks at epcot. Swan has an excellent feature pool and nice sandy beach with playground. I would definitely pick the Swan.

We loved WL but it is a little removed from things and you have to get on a bus or boat to go anywhere. We've also stayed at the Swan on points and the location affords you so much more to do just a short walk away. You're DS would love just walking along the boardwalk watching the boats, maybe stopping for an ice cream. At night you can walk to the boardwalk and see the Illumination fireworks. If your DS is a napper your DW will probably enjoy the idea of putting him in a stroller and walking to see the other resorts.

I would think with a 2 year old that you would be in the MK a lot. I would pick the WL. It is a beautiful restort- so relaxing and breathtaking. You can hop the boat or the bus to go to the MK.
