WL or AKL - Best Transportation?

We have stayed at WL so I am aware of the transportation options there and I know that AKL only has bus transportation.

My question is this - to those of you that have stayed at both which has the best bus service to the Epcot/MGM area?

We are planning a trip in July and are thinking of doing a split stay and are trying to decide which to do first as we will probaly do more parks earlier in the trip.

Both will have buses only to both those locations. Each bus will run about every 15 minutes. The majority of the time, each bus will make one additional quick stop before heading to the park. In my experience, both would be equal.

Having stayed at both resorts, I would rate the transport from AKL to be a little better. Both are efficient, but the bus from the WL also stops at the Poly and GF. The AKL buses are not shared with any other resorts.

The WL bus will stop at either Fort Wilderness -OR- Grand Floridian. No other stops.

The AKL bus will stop at Blizzard Beach both ways for the Studios bus (until Blizzard clears), and the Epcot bus will often times stop at DAK during the afternoon on the way to Epcot.

We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge over the summer and found the transportation to be lacking!! Also a little confusing. One time we found ourselves at Fort Wilderness, had to get off the bus and wait for a different one to come and get us. We were among 15 people who did the same thing. It seemed like the wait times for Epcot buses were way too long. We once waited for over 1/2 hour for a bus to Epcot. We counted 5 buses to Downtown Disney and Disney Studios before an Epcot bus came. It just always seemed as though we were the first stop there and the last stop on the way back. We are staying at the AKL this June and hope it it not as bad. The boat service to MK was OK as long as there were not too many people waiting. At the end of the night, after the park closed we waited for 3 boats before we got on. After staying at the Beach Club, nothing else compares.

We've stayed at both during the past 18 months. I found AKL to be a bit better with wait times and frequency of busses. If this was my main concern I think I'd choose AKL. I noted in my travel journal that WL was better for MK and AKL was better for AK and Epcot. Just my opinon, hope it helps.
