WL only, or split stay?

We're going 12/18 -12/25, just DD (11) & me. We have WL booked the entire time, but if you follow my posts, you'll know that I LOVE to resort hop! However, DD wants to stay put this time. Since I'm paying , I'm thinking of doing 4 nts. @ WL, and then moving to an Epcot resort for the last 3 nts., as DD's favorite park is MGM. What would you do? I'm leaning towards a water view @ BWI. DD loves the BW, and we stayed at YC on our trip this past Aug. Should I hop or stay put? I can't make up my mind because I love WL in Dec. Thanks for your help, Tracey

Stay put - moving at a busy time of year is too much hassle - and what could be better than the WL at Christmas? Last year we hopped from teh Dolphin to the WL during the holidays and I wished we had just done WL the whole time!

Since your only staying 7 days I would definately stay put at WL. It would be to confusing to switch in the middle of the week to stay at another resort for a few days. Definately stick with WL.

I third it. Stay put. We always resort hop in the middle of the stay, and this year will be no exception! We will be at BCV for five nights, but since the points for Fri nights are too high for us, we will be switching to AKL for one night! Ugh! Nightmare. I would not switch unless the trip was ten nights or longer if I had a choice, but we REALLY wanted that one extra night of vacation!

Carrieberry is right about the 10 or more days for switching mid-trip. We stayed for exactly 10 days. The first three nights were at WL and the other seven were spent at the YC. Making the second resort the longer of the two stays made more sense, since we knew we could relax a bit more. Yet we had the feeling of having 2 separate vacations: both were wonderful yet completely different. --Wilma

I go along with the majority. I wouldn't switch hotels. It just takes up too much time.

Well when you stay at WL...make sure you stop by and see me at roaring fork.....the snack bar.

I'd switch, but I love to resort hop. Then again, I also like the slower periods as well.

We resort hop quite a bit also and with just the two of you it should be no big deal. If you plan on getting a water view at BW for 12/18 - 12/25 you may be out of luck unless something opens up. I would imagine those views are pretty much booked for those dates.
If your DD really is against changing hotels, perhaps you could stay at WL all 7 nights as a Xmas gift to her.

My vote is to switch. But I don't like to stay in one hotel over 4-5 nights. I think switching is like 2 vacations. However, both resorts are wonderful and your decision will be the right one for you!!!

I would not switch. We have switched before, and as you know, it is not usually a big hassle, but I would just stay put at the WL during such a busy season.
