We had to reschedule our trip to the WL until Nov. 11. Does anyone know if they start decorating for Christmas around that time and will the trees be up in the resorts? I have never been at that time of year and would love to see the trees!:smickey:

From our experience you won't see the Christmas trees in the resorts that early in November. We were there for Thanksgiving one year, staying at WL, and Thanksgiving night we went to bed pretty late and they had an area roped off in the lobby for the tree and some boxes out. When we woke up the next morning, relatively early, and went to WCC for breakfast practically the entire tree was up. It was pretty awesome looking.

At MGM you'll see the lights during the day for the Osbourne lights but most of the decorations aren't really put out until the elves put them out immediately after Thanksgiving.

YES YES YES! We went to WL last year from that Sunday (12th last year) to the following Friday (17th last year) and we saw lots of Christmas stuff. First off the WL tree went up on Weds or Thurs during that week. It was awesome to see! The entire Magic Kingdom is decorated in Christmas complete with the gorgeous tree by the Castle. The Mickey Verry Magical Christmas party starts on November 12th so the whole park IS decorated and lighted. The Osbourne lights are beautiful and begin this year on November 12th as they did last year and it is AWESOME to see those lights lit up and snow falling. Epcot was decorated and the tree was up and lit, but there were plenty of decorations hanging and not lit up for some reason in Epcot. They have more festivities in Epcot such as the Candellight processional so they may not light up that park until around Thanksgiving. Also the Grand Floridian had their Gingerbread house completed by the time we arrived!

So don't worry you will definitely get to see Christmas stuff!

Now the question is how did you book something on the 11th of November. IT is very difficult to get in on that day. Food and Wine festival last night, the Super Soap weekend and the end of Jersey week with Veterans day on November 12th so longer weekend for some. We booked our GF room back in February and now we can't find availabilty at GF for those dates (so I am worried about our room assignment!)

Hope this helps!

Wow, they have started putting things up a good bit earlier than when we were there. At least they wait until after Halloween.

I was going to say....my wedding was Nov 10 last year and they did not have the decorations up but the next few days they did...now the MK had already started putting theirs up at that time. But they will have it up. The BC's chocolate carosel went up in a few hours, it was amazing!

We have started a Thanksgiving tradition last year. Turkey Day at the Polynesian and MVMCP. We usually go down the Thursday or Friday before Thanksgiving and stay that entire week. We go over to WL just to look at their tree, which is usually up that week before Thanksgiving. Awesome stuff going on then. Have fun.

:donald: Thank you for the information. I will just hope that the tree goes up early this year! Does anyone know how the crowds are around that time?

November 11th is our Anniversary!!!!:bride: :groom:
we went to the WL for our honeymoon in 2000, arrived on the 13th and about halfway through the week they put our tree up...something woke me up in the middle of the night (we were staying in one of the honeymoon rooms at the top of the lobby) it sounded like a vacuum cleaner!!!:scared1: I got up and threw on a robe and stormed my way out of the room to find out what IDIOT :confused3 was vacuuming outside of my room @ 2 am...I threw open the door and was face to face with the top of the HUGE Christmas tree! My rage instantly turned to joy, I found a rocking chair to drag over to the edge of the balcony and sat there like a very happy very tired child:rotfl: in my bathrobe watching them decorate the tree :wizard: just to celebrate my honeymoon in my favorite place in the world...
so, you never know when they are going to sneak the Christmas into each resort...they have a pretty limited staff to do all of the parks, resorts and the cruise ships...
btw, if they offer it while you are there definitely take the Christmas Behind the Scenes tour:santa: ...it was the best tour I've ever taken @ Disney

The were excellent last year. The waits were minimal no more than 10 minutes and most were walk ons. Sunday the 11th will be crowded because it is a long weekend, but by Monday and definitely Tuesday you will see thined out crowds. You will love this time of year. The reason we started going is because the CM's would tell us the week before Thanksgiving is a good week, so we tried it last year and loved it. We won't be able to do it again since my son hits middle school next year and won't be able to pull him out for a week. But we are very excited to be going this year at this time!

Just a quick note, if you have not made your ADR's do so. I can't get anything for the 11th for Chef Mickey, Grand Floridian, Crystal Palace and such! Good luck!

OHHH What is this? I have never heard of this, please tell how we could get more information. Thanks!

We were at WL around then last year. Our first day was Wednesday, November 15th. That night all the decorations went up. We woke up Thursday and it was magical. A few more decorations went up rest of week.
