WL honeymoon suite vs standard room at Poly

My parents 40th wedding anniversary is coming up and they want to stay somewhere different and special. They have stayed at half of the Disney resorts. They both would love to stay at the poly. It is $200 a night cheaper to stay in a honeymoon suite on the concierge level at the wilderness Lodge then for a standard room at the Polynesian. Does anyone have any experiences with these two resorts? And would you recommend one over the other? It seems like a no-brainer to me but I have never stayed at either of these resorts. I already booked the wilderness Lodge but I can change it if I find something better. But for the price that was offered it seems too good to be true.

That's a tough choice as we have stayed at both and while the Poly is our favorite of all the resorts we've stayed at, I think in this case with the WL being so much cheaper (and being CL), I'd go with the WL . We've stayed Poly GV and the resort is amazing, but CL at the WL is also amazing. I say stick with the honeymoon suite .

We love WL and go with it for the cost savings and find it to be just wonderful. Like any Poly vs. WL thread though you will find people passionate about each resort.
In this case it seems you get the best of the best at WL by getting a Honeymoon suite on CL AND you save money over Poly. No contest for me. On the other hand if Poly is their dream that might carry some weight, but another factor to consider is possible DVC construction at Poly which could decrease the experience depending on how soon they are planning to go.
Either way they should have a wonderful time.
