My family and I will be travelling to DW for the first time and staying at WL. We have booked a courtyard room. Has anyone ever had luck getting a room upgrade? What about any suggests on specific room? I am hoping to have a room with a balcony view of the pool and stream or the lake. Thanks.

We just got back from WL the other day. We booked a woods view room; we were upgraded to courtyard. It was room 4037 (king bed). We had a lovely view of the pool, the outside dining area, Bay Lake and the marina. We could watch the electric water parade from our balcony.

I'll post a picture of the view in a bit.

On a couple of occasions, I booked Standard or Woods View rooms and have been upgraded to Courtyard View. The upgraded view was facing the Villas pool. When I have booked a Courtyard View, I have gotten a Courtyard View facing the hotel pool.

Here are a few shots from the balcony of WL room 4037.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Last year we booked a standard room and got upgraded to courtyard with bunk beds. It was fantastic. The WL has GREAT CMs!!!!! Don't forget to ask about being flag family when you check in! Have a great time!

We too will be staying there for the first time in Dec. We have booked a courtyard view as well. Your pictures are wonderful, I cannot wait to go!

Thank you very much for the pics.. very helpful. Is the noise from the lobby loud from this room? Mary P

Same here -- but we're going in March for spring break -- we've booked WL with courtyard view/bunkbeds for dd. You're pictures are awesome! Thanks for sharing!!

If you've booked courtyard view, there's not much to upgrade to, unless you were upgraded to club level. Couryard is their most expensive room category.

I've been upgraded from standard to woods, and woods to courtyard in the past.

I'm glad you enjoyed my pics. There was no lobby noise at all. We were directly above Artist Point, which is above Roaring Fork. That's far from the lobby. There were no rooms directly below us at all.

We stayed in a room above the lobby for our honeymoon. The only noise we really heard was from WCC. They had a dinner bell that they would ring at opening; we always had an early morning wakeup call, even when we didn't want it.

On this trip the lobby didn't seem too noisy at all. It should be noted that we could hear the music from the courtyard. I think it usually started around 9AM and stopped at around 8PM or so. We did take a couple of naps in the afternoons. The music didn't keep us from sleeping, but we could hear it through the closed patio door.

I'm wondering if your room was near a speaker.....
I have never heard anything with door closed....

As for room upgrades....like a previous poster said....
Courtyard is the most expensive view...

Most upgrades will happen within a view....not to a suite...

I would definately suggest an "inner courtyard view"....
Some courtyard views face the WL villas:confused3
Also a higher floor gives a better view....

Enjoy the WL....the place is awesome...
Spend some time exploring all the floors above lobby.....
Lots of fun nooks and crannies to explore.
Happy Planning

WL is great for upgrades. Every trip we take, we book standard but have yet to stay in anything other than courtyard since they have upgraded us everytime. But as others have said, courtyard view is the top view without going to conceirge or a suite which would be very rare to get that kind of upgrade.

We were up graded from standard to courtyard, similar view to the pictures posted only we had 2 queen beds.
