We are doing a Disney cruise in late January 2013 and are planning on doing WDW for 4 nights after the cruise. This will probably be our one and only trip to WDW (kids are 6 and 8). We are pretty set on WL based on the theming and proximity to MK. Does anyone know if room only rack rate discounts are ever available for WL? If so, how far in advance? Also, the package pricing is confusing to me. Are we really better off adding tickets to our room to create a package? We are not big foodies, so are not very interested in a meal plan.

Thanks in advance!

We just finished a 10 night stay WL Club Level. We had a 40% discount. WL does have discounts. Right now, the only discount out that far is AAA...do you have that?? We just booked BC at 15% off, which was a $583 difference! :cool1:

Otherwise, you'll have to wait till closer to the date to see what discounts are available.

You will be no better off booking tickets as part of a package, it will be the same price as if you bought them separately through Disney...it is necessary though if you want the dining plan...since you are not interested in the dining plan, you could look at purchasing tickets at a retailer like Undercover Tourist at a discount, or again, AAA offers a small discount on tickets. :thumbsup2

Was that a military discount? As far as I know WL discounts for general public have been pretty skimpy lately. We got a 40% AP discount for WL last Jan; but not lately.

I agree you can book a room only and ask for the AAA discount, if you have a membership.
There usually are room discounts in Jan/Feb. But who knows what they will be next year. I just booked POFQ with an AAA rate, 20% Now I wait to see if WDW will bring out a better one.

Undercover is a great ticket seller, look on mousesavers.com link for them.

Yes, it was a military discount! :thumbsup2 I think the WL has had lower GP discounts because of the current renos knocking rooms out of inventory, etc... But once it's done, I bet it'll come back.

Room only discounts for early Feb, 2012 came out around Oct 5, 2011. I got 35% off at BC; I think WL was in that same group. That was last year, though, so who knows what they'll do this year.
