Hi -
We are planning on staying at the WL next year from July 1-3. Since there are 5 of us, we can either stay in 1 deluxe room (with a pull out sofa) or 2 regular rooms. Since there are no discounts out yet, I have already booked us for 1 deluxe room. Right now there is no price difference. Do you think I'd be better off reserving 2 regular rooms and waiting for the discounts to come out? My kids are very excited about staying there. The Whispering Canyon Cafe is one of their favorite restaurants. Thank you so much for your help.

Two regular rooms or one deluxe? I would go for two connecting rooms, that way you get 4 beds(all queens) and the all important two bathrooms. Plus, extra space to luggage, etc.....

You may want to look at renting a 2 bdrm in the villas. You can rent points from a DVC member and it is much cheaper! (Cheaper than 2 rooms and more space). We stayed there in Feb this year and it was a little cramped and for some reason they said there are not rooms that adjoin??? Maybe I misunderstood and they didnt have any ready when we checked in. Anyway, you might want to look at the villas. Have a happy trip! WL rocks! (and trees! :rotfl2: )

No contest! Two bathrooms wins, toliet seats down! (Silly, I know but I am feeling punchy!)

WL is our favorite resort!

The discounts if they become available would be the same amount for both individual rooms...Discounts on Deluxe rooms are hardly ever given as there are so few of them. If you did recieve a discount on the deluxe it would be the same % as one of the standard rooms.

Example

Regular season: Rack Rate
Woods View $265.00 X 2= $530.00
Deluxe Room $450.00

Regular Season with discount BRP
Woods View $185.00 X 2=$370.00 (-$80.00 per room X 2= $160.00 total discount)
Deluxe room (if available) $370.00 (-$80.00)

I did the price on a Woods View/Lodge View because the Deluxe rooms are all listed as Woods View...If you booked the standard view room:

Regular Season: Rack Rate
Standard View $239.00 X 2=$478.00
Deluxe Room $450.00

Regular Season with discount BRP
Standard View $159.00 X 2=$318.00 (-$80.00 per room X 2=$160.00 total discount)
Deluxe room (if available) $370.00 (-$80.00)

I would book two standard view rooms. Not just for the two bathrooms, but for the two televisions.

A two bedroom Villa Sun-Thur would cost $400.00 a night, to rent points if you can rent for $10.00 a point: For Friday or Saturday it would be $750.00 a night.
