WL Deluxe room vs. Poly Garden View

We are a family of 5 and are beginning to plan for our Dec 2006 trip. Trying to decide where to stay. Anyone with views, experience or thoughts on either a Deluxe room at WL or a Poly Garden View.

Last trip was to POR which we liked except for the bus service which was a big negative. We were leaning toward Poly due to monorail until I did a search on WDW site and came up with the WL room which sounds like more space which is good with 5 but it looks like it would be $600 more. Is it worth it? Especially without the monorail. Or should we stick with the monorail and a regular room at Poly?

I'd vote for the Poly. If transportation is a concern, the Poly has about the best transportation options onsite. The monorail is a great way to get to the MK or Epcot, and plus there are the boat launches, TTC nearby, and bus service to AK. I think you'll love it

I saw a picture of the WL deluxe room (on a past Disney planning DVD) and also thought it looked great for our family of 5. But after staying at the Poly last time we loved the monorail. If you are dealing with a stroller, the monorail is much easier than getting on buses. We are staying at the Contemporary this time but the I have the deluxe on our list for next time.

Have you considered doing GVC at the Polynesian. It's about the same rate as the deluxe room at WL. You would have the lounge for extra room the spread out + the rooms are a nice size. We're a family of 5 & we were very comfortable.
