not every courtyard view is created equal, like any views, lol.
We booked standard, and were upgraded to woodsview (the first couple days, I quietly assumed I had been upgraded but on day 3, I finally asked what "view" my room number was.)
We got a great woodsview...6th floor, looking over tall trees (past the service driveway) directly at the MK fireworks. FUN! And right outside our entrance door, our hallway was on the lobby (believe its called a woods view lobby room) OPPOSITE the elevator. Made for a little walking, but could see right down on the lobby and hardly any foot traffic passed our room at all. The CM we spoke with said that they like to fill the upgraded views so if they are not booked up, they like to give upgrades to fill them. He was pretty careful in explaining that it is NOT guaranteed (they cannot upgrade everyone) amd that they do it indiscriminately. They don't take standard view and move them to Concierge suites, lol, they move as many people as they can up one level or so.
We requested absolutely NOTHING, so I bet that made us easy to move, lol. (Could have, of course, backfired and had us somewhere really undesirable, I suppose!) We were THRILLED with our room. I would pay for the upgrade if I could be promised THAT particular room (or the one next door) exactly, lol.
Courtyard view, btw, looks onto the courtyards. Woods View is, I believe, floors 4,5,6 and looks onto woods (opposite from courtyards, since the woods are AROUND the property). The CM showed me on a map, but I don't really remember. Just remember that for Wishes viewing, I got the best woodsview wing on the best floor.
