I read that the lounge has beer. When is it available. I would love to come back for our afternoon rest and have a coule while we hang out by the pool.

Normally at the time they serve the appetizers but just ask for it from a CM during the other hours of the day.

1) Taking a can of beer from the Club Floor is frowned upon.
2) They can't control what you are doing with it (like giving it away).
3) But, you are free to drink it in the lounge or in your room.

As soon as you step out of the lounge with it they don't know what you're going to do with it. :confused3 Lounge staff can't control what guests do with it out of their sight...in their rooms or on their balconies or at the pool - wherever. I've seen people take beer and wine etc out all the time and nobody has said "boo" about it. Seems to me people would be more on the up out at a public resort pool (hopefully;) ) than in their rooms. :rotfl:

They have beer in bottles in the lounge, not cans. :thumbsup2 That's what the pool staff might frown upon...the glass.

:goodvibes

The expectation in the club areas is one drink at a time, so don't expect to walk in and take multiple bottles of beer with you. CM will stop people if their taking handfuls and depending on the club setup will remove the beer from sight requiring guest to request a drink.

At WL it is not behind a counter where a CM provides it to you and at the AKL Club I witnessed a person attempting to leave the club with about 5-6 beers. They stopped him and removed the beer from the line the rest of the evening, leaving all the other guest to ask for one.

There are no set or communicatied do's or don't but just get a plastic cup and you will be fine to take the beer to the pool for safety reasons. Getting a beer at the club is no different than buying somewhere else in the resort...you are also a paying customer-guest too...take it where they normally allow drinks.

If that is so, you would think that at least once in the dozens of times I have taken a beer from the lounge at either the YC concierge or the AKL concierge, a staff member would have said something to me. It's never happened, so I don't think this is correct.

Rusty I hate to disagree with you but:

1)we stayed at GF SL
2)we did take beer out of lounge
3)CM's gave us a glass so we could take it to the pool
4)and did so happily!

...and we have also done the same thing at least four clubs that we recall with the club staff knowingly providing the plastic cup for this purpose.

1) You pay big bucks for those "free" concierge drinks
2) You can drink them where you want
3) Unless Rustyscupper is the beer police at the WL, you should be fine ;)

Oh ya...they have plastic cups just sitting out.:) There ya go. Easy as pie. Take your beer to go. :thumbsup2

I've taken cordials and beer from the lounge and relaxed by the Marina at the GF until Wishes started... no problem.
I just brought the empty glass back with me to the lounge on the way to my room.

I'm glad I'm reading all these pool rules b/c i have to tell ya-we've never ever been asked for resort ID poolside in the 5 trips we've gone and we honeymooned in Disney-so trust me we layed poolside glasses up celebrating (platic cups up) and not a word was said. Thanks for the heads up!:thumbsup2

Sorry RustyScupper, :confused3 at the Wilderness Lodge all the Club Level rooms aren't located in just one area. There are concierge Club Level rooms located on each floor now. Guest may take their refreshments anywhere they choose to enjoy them.

Last December in the Hawaii Longhouse Club Level lounge at the Polynesian the Cast Members would give us Beer after 8:00 PM during the dessert when they were taken away and they did not mind it at all. I even saw some guests ask for two bottles of Heineken during the afternoon and the Cast Member said no problem.

At the Contemporary on the Atrium Club Level they have the beer out in bin so the guests get it themselves and when they would start to run low on some bottles, the Cast Members would just get some more and put them in the bin.

Hey. Good point. :thumbsup2 Same with the BWI, Poly, GF RPC, I think YC and BC, too. I think most CMs see the importance of having happy guests. :goodvibes At the GF they bend over backwards and would NEVER tell a guest "NO" about taking ANYTHING out of the lounge. I've seen people take whole bottles of wine and champagne. :rotfl: (not me! I swear;) - but I have seen it!) No questions asked about WHERE they're taking it.

:)

Because OP wanted to know WHEN the beer would be available. Thought the whole Club Level hours of service would be helpful with their planning....rather than saying you can get beer at such and such time.

We've never had an issue with getting beer and taking it away from the lounge at any of the concierge levels we've tried so far... AKL, BWI, GF, or WL.

Soon to try YC in July. ;)
