I am trying to figure out the money situation for our October trip. I would PREFER to stay at WL which would be $239/nt for 4 nights. BUT if need be I am willing to go for less. I don't mind going back and staying at POP for $99/nt. OR, I was thinking about a moderate like CBR at $149/165/nt. Is the CBR worth the extra money over POP? I have only stayed at POP, and never had any other experience. Like I said, I PREFER WL, but don't mind the other two resorts. Some info would be very helpful!!

Go for Pop. You're there for 4 nights, and will probably spend most of your time in the parks, right? Are you looking for a nice, relaxing stay at your resort with your husband? Will you be spending a lot of time at the pool? Are you taking children? Will they be extremely upset if there's no slide at the pool? Can you think of anything you can do with an extra $300.00? How about $600.00? If you're not worried at all about spending the extra money, then just go to WL. Most adults would prefer WL, but a lot (probably a majority) of young children would prefer Pop. Obviously, money is a big factor for you if you're trying to figure the money situation.
I think the key here is how much time you'll be spending at your resort. If you're mainly going for the theme parks and would like to save a nice chunk of change, go for Pop or CBR. Either way, you're going to have a wonderful vacation. I know, it's not an easy decision. Even when money is not a factor, many people can't decide. :confused3

Hey Keith, thanks for your advice :)

-We don't have kids, it's just DH and myself
-We are mainly going for MNSSHP, and to use up the last 2 days of our passes after our April trip
-I am only worried about money (a little) because we are going to vegas in Sept and I am not sure how we will fare ;) Not planning on gambling TOO much :)
-I don't mind going to Pop again if we have too, but it only makes sense to pay a few more dollars to stay at CBR if it is worth it.

I was just looking over your post. There are no children in the picture, so I'm assuming you have no children. Also, you will have already stayed at Pop twice, and the October trip is in celebration of your anniversary? If this is the case, I'd probably choose a moderate, and try to get a code later on for WL if you can swing it.

As 2 adults I think you would like CSR as a moderate. IT has a lot of coperate types because it is a convention center. There are fewer childern around, the buses seem less crowded.

Does CSR have the Disney feel though?? I kinda like to be emerged, ya know? as much as possible at least.

This is what I was thinking too. I am just worried that CBR isn't worth the little extra money. I don't mind VALUE, because that is all we know. It would be PERFECT to be able to do WL, but if we can't I am all for CBR, if it is worth it.

Have you ever stayed at CBR and POP? What do you think?

Like the previous poster said, you would of stayed at POP 2x and since there will be just two of you, I would stay at CBR. The rooms are nice, the grounds a nice, and it is more centrally located. Explore other options, you might be suprised. WL, is nice, but spend the money in VEGAS!!! See a show, roll the dice, etc. (Remember though, what happens in Vegas STAYS in vegas!) Have fun! :ssst:

I have stayed there 3 times and I loved it. It is very well themed. Just as well themed as the WL or CRB. Some people dont like the Pepper Market but i really like the food there. It is my sisters favorite resprt mostly because she is a single adult and has no kids. The fact that there are less kids there is a big plus for her.

When you are there in April, take a little bit of time (if you have it) and check out WL and CBR and make your final decision from there.

I stayed at CBR my first time at WDW. Since it was my first time at a Disney resort, I really enjoyed it. Since then I've stayed at Contemporary and that was much nicer. We're staying at Pop in Dec., so I can't compare. I'm seeing on the DIS boards that CSR and PO are preferred over CBR. The cabanas area at CSR has the tropical feel to it, so if you go with CSR, I'd request cabanas area. Also, even though CSR has a convention center, I wouldn't worry about that, especially since you have no children. Contemporary has a convention center and it didn't affect us at all, even with children. I personally would choose CSR or PO over CBR if I were to stay at a moderate again. PO has the boat to Downtown Disney. CSR seems to be a much nicer resort all around. The pool area is probably a lot nicer. Many refer to it as a deluxe moderate. You may want to check out the sit down restaurant menu items. It seemed a little fancy and overpriced a little. It wouldn't deter me, but you should check it all out before you make your final decision. Like I said before, no matter where you stay you'll have a wonderful vacation.

I booked CBR yesterday for the end of April for $126 -- AAA rate. I just joined AAA recently for $48 (they waived the enrollment fee of $15) So you might want to consider AAA if you're not a member.

My family loves CBR!!! We usually stay in Jamaica, Building 45. It is a short walk over the bridge to the main pool area and the food court. There is bus pickup close to Jamaica too. The themeing is wonderful, and the pool area is nice. The rooms are bigger than a value resort and that is a big plus for my family along with a refrigerator and coffee maker in the room. We, also, like the food court. Good luck on making your decision.

Well, luckily I am a member and LOVE IT! That's where I got my quotes in the OP for CBR. To answer/comment on the wonderful feedback I have gotten:

-I have visited WL several times. DH actually loves this place. My original idea (after thinking about POP) for October was a toss-up between AKL and WL. LOL. That just adds more to the mix, I know. I asked DH which he would prefer- AKL or WL. He said only AKL if we were able to see the animals from our room. At $238/nt at either resorts it was a hard decision. But in order to see the animals I know it would be around $265/nt at AKL, so I decided on WL.

-I had visited CBR a long time ago (maybe 10 yrs??) and thought it was ok. Of course it was a rainy afternoon, and dad was dragging us around and my sis and I were tired of checking out resorts. This trip DH and I will have to check it out again, as adults ;)

-With CSR, I am really worried it is too...much like a normal hotel, if that makes sense. Heck, I might as well stay at Swan/Dolphin...know what I mean? Guess we will have to check out that place too. I am big on themeing if money allows it (which is why I would REALLY like WL...) and I am not sure how CSR does in this area.

-With CBR, how is the walk/transportation, ect. My RA (rheumatoid arthritis) tends to act up at times, and I hate long walks to anywhere (another reason I like WL so much!). We will also be relying on disney transp. for the first time EVER (we are flying for Oct trip) and I am unsure how CBR & CSR are with their transportation. I know how POP's and WL are...just worried about the other two.

-Vegas....yeah! This is my parent's gift to DH and I. It began as a trip with the 4 of us, and now includes my grandparents, grandmother, and 15 other family members (including 2 uncles I haven't seen in over a year, and my DH's dad whom we have not seen in 4 years)!!! Our only budget for Vegas is air, food, tickets to shows, and gambling. Not TOO worried, like I said before. Mom and dad are paying for most (I really love them  :grouphug: ).
