Wondering what time to be at the dock to go to Magic Kingdom on early entry days and 9 am opening days? How long is the ride? Is it easy to get back to WL after Mickeys Halloween Party...what should we take bus or boat? What time do the boats run until?

All Disney transportation runs from an hour before opening until an hour or 2 after park closings. For EE days it would be an hour before EE time. I would definetly take the boat back and forth for MNSSHP. As for travel time, it's usually about 10-15 mins if going directly from WL to MK ~ not sure if there may be a stop at FW first sometimes, than it could be a little longer to accout for the extra stop.

Unfortunetly, there is no bus that runs directly from the MK to the WL. If you want to take a bus you have to go to the Transportation center(TTTC), or the Poly/GF to find a bus that runs to the WL. This as you can see would take a lot longer then the boat ride. They also run boats to the CR. This is great for Mickey's character breakfast, or getting on the monorail and going to EPCOT. Take the monorail from CR to the TTTC, then get on the monorail going to EPCOT. We find this to be faster and less crowded then the bus. Finally they run a boat to FW for the Hoopty Doo, all boats have color coded flags showing where they are going, it's foolproof. Have a magical time!::MickeyMo :wave2:

Actually the boat to MK doesn't start operating until about 30 minutes before park opening, it runs slightly different than the bus schedule, which does start 1 hour before. If you need to get to MK early for an early PS, on a non-EE morning, you'll need to take the bus to the TTC (these start running at 7AM) and transfer to the resort monorail. Otherwise, the boat will get there you in plenty of time for park opening. The boat ride is about 5 minutes.

Also, the "launch" boats that run between WL, the CR, and FW start running before the MK boat. We often take the quick launch boat to the CR and then walk to MK.

Here is our experience with using WL boats during EE and e-ride nights......... The boats don't start running until 30 minutes before MK opening time.......when we got to the boat dock before 7:30 (for EE) there was a HUGE line and no boat. When the boat arrived shortly after 7:30 the line was so long, we had to wait for a second boat. Well, the second boat was actually the orginal boat that had to make its run to MK and then come back for us. There was only one boat running for EE!! I was a little upset over that. We didn't get to MK until an hour after we left our room. We only did EE once while staying at MK. If we run into this problem next time, we will just take the bus to TTC and then hop the monorail.

Now, during e-ride nights (I guess the same will be for special parties) there was a boat running back to WL. Of course it took us some time to figure this out because the people working the exit gates told us to take a bus.......but then we couldn't find a bus stop for WL so then they told us to take the monorail to TTC and then catch a bus..............so we were on our way to do that when we saw people waiting at the boat dock..........so we took the boat.

I would ask the boat driver that brings you to MK if the boats would be running after the Halloween party to be on the safe side. Some CM's working at MK will not know the answer!

I believe the boats run one hour after the park closes........no matter what time that may be. It takes about 12-15 minutes for the boat to travel to/from the MK/WL.

when we stayed at WL 2 years ago and had 8:00 PS at CRT, we had to take the bus as the boat was not going to be starting pick up until 30 minutes before park opening (9:00 on this particular day). I do believe the bus stopped at TTC, but we did not have to get off and transfer to another bus - it just made a quick stop and then proceded to drive to MK. (it might have stopped at CR on the way also, I can't quite remember) I don't think the trip was too long - maybe 15 minutes?

I would recommend getting to the boat dock about 10 minutes before they are scheduled to pick up so if it's crowded, you can be sure to get on the first boat that comes. I think they run every 20 minutes or so - there are signs that indicate how often the boats arrive/depart and where they are going to. Also, when you do take the boat over to MK, the ride only lasts 5 - 10 minutes and it's a nice relaxing way to travel!

The busses do not go from TTC to MK anymore.
