We have stayed at WL years back, in 1999. I remember we were on the 7th floor and had a solid railing on the balcony. Even though we to stand to see it, the view was of the monorail and the castle. We could watch the castle change colors at night!! I know that the 7th floor is conceriage (spelling?) so we won't be on that floor since we have a woods view.

Does anyone know what floors now have a solid railing??

Thanks,
Karen

We were on the 6th floor during our stay and we had the enclosed balconies with solid railings. I'm not sure if any floors lower than that have them or not.

We stayed on the 5th floor inner courtyard and had an open railing.

All of the 7th floor is concierge level and all balconies are called dormer balconies. The bottom 1/2 is enclosed, you have no view when sitting down. The 7th floor does not totally continue down toward bay lake and the pool.

So the 6th floor is considered the top floor in this area. Again, they will have the dormer balconies. The 6th floor rooms under the 7th floor concierge rooms will have a regular railing balcony.

I also believe the 6th floor allows smoking.

If the 6th floor "is" smoking then it sounds as though we should get the 5th floor or lower since we requested non smoking. We will have some time to spend at the resort and it would be nice to have the "open railing" balcony this trip!

Thanks,
Karen

I was told that WL is now a completely NON-SMOKING hotel. I had made a point to my TMFL travel agent to make sure I had a request for a non-smoking room, and I was told that the CM said that WL is now all Non smoking.

Sorry you were given bad information the 6th floor North Wing is smoking optional. I went to the 6th floor last week and the smoking rooms start right by the elevator that comes up near Roaring Fork North side of the Lodge room #'s are Woods View: 6034,6032,6030,6028,6026,6024,6020,6022,6020,6018,6016,6014,6012,6010,6008,6006, & 6004 Courtyard View: 6031,6029,6027,6015,6023,6021,6019,6017,6015,6013,6011,6009,6007, & 6005 there are no Jr. Suits on the sixth floor North Wing.
When we rode the elevator up from the first floor at Roaring Fork you could smell just a little of the smoke when you got off the elevator...after you walked around the corner back to the main building and lobby you couldn't smell it at all.

CaliforniaDreaming,

Opps, ment to say no Jr. Suites in the Smoking optional section of the North Wing.
