WL and free DDP

I hope I'm on the correct board for this question. I read somewhere that the WL did not participate at all in the free dining last Aug/Sep. Can anyone verify if this is correct?

Even if that was the case, there's no way of predicting whether WL will participate this year. If their bookings look good for this fall and they don't feel they need to offer a discount to fill the resort, they won't offer free dining. If bookings are down, they'll offer it, or some other discount.

I called the first day that Free Dining was offered to Disney Visa holders on April 9 and WL was not available for the Free Dining promo. We have 4 kids and have always wanted to stay there in the Deluxe room that sleeps six. We ended up at POP with two rooms for free dining this past September (which by the way was great - two bathrooms, plenty of space for everyone).

Also, PP is correct there really is no way of knowing what will or won't be available this year. Just depends on which resorts have the least bookings and they need to fill up.

Using "search" I found a thread back in April '07 discussing who booked what Deluxes for Free Dining and there were some lucky DISers who booked the WL with free dining - so there is always hope! Looks like you might have to have some persistance though :

WL Woods View 9/04/07 - 09/08/07 with free dining.

I have been calling every day for 2 weeks to get into WL and today was the day!!!!!!!!

All they had was a Woods View (wanted standard) but I took it and am soooo excited! I have always wanted to stay there!

Will be like a new world to me!

We got WL bunkbed room with courtyard view on 9/3 - 9/8

I booked WL for 9/14-9/19, courtyard view

We are booked at WL Aug. 31 - Sept. 8, standard view. We would love to book one more night. We feel very fortunate, it doesn't look like too many WL rooms were available.

We got one of the (apparently) few WL Standard View rooms for 9/3-9/10. We originally booked with a TA but they couldn't get us anything at WL, even with different dates and a room upgrade, and that's the only place we wanted to stay. I decided to try calling myself Thursday afternoon and got a wonderful CM (I wish I remembered her name!) who checked all dates during FD and found us a room.
