I’ll try to be as short & specific as possible, but I’m struggling here with moving parts etc.

We decided to visit Dec 29/30 - Jan 5. It was just us 5 at first, but now my Mother (who doesn’t even own a passport and can never commit to anything) has decided to come.

I have us at BCV

1bd Dec 30 - Jan 1
2bd Jan 1 - 5

I was content with that :/. I was maybe going to try to get us out of the 1bd via waitlist at 7 months because of point shortage.

Now the 1bd is not big enough.
I figured Dec 31 will be the hardest to get, so I set a waitlist to replace the entire 1bd reservation b/c I don’t have enough BCV points to cover the one night without replacing both nights in the 1bd.

I really wish I hadn’t pulled my BCV points from 2020 to book (I had no 2019 points left). I’d prefer to book SSR 2bd Dec 29-Jan 1, but I would have to pull those 2020 points too!

I feel stuck waiting for the 7 month window as I’ll be wasting points to book SSR now that I’ve pulled BCV points. I keep worrying at this and it’s driving me insane!

Should I book at least the 31st using SSR points for a 2bd? That would not exceed the limit of points I’ll be using total & at least we’d have a 2bd on NYE. I can’t book both Dec 30-31 at SSR without wasting 20+ points that won’t get used when all is said and done.

I might be going a bit crazy, lol! Anyone care to help me figure this out?

Thx!

There’s no way I’d give up an Epcot area reservation on Dec 31st...walking from Epcot (best fireworks ever) to a resort beats dealing with the largest crowds of the year on busses or massively congested parking / roads.

Riviera booking opens to other members on May 17, so that might open up some rooms

I know! It’s so painful :(

With the Skyliner, I’d almost consider personally staying 2 nights at pop/aoa with the rest of the family at BCV while trying to get something at an Epcot area resort.

That’s a great idea! I’d forgotten that they would connect that way! We love both Pop & AoA too. Thx!

::yes:: That might be a really good plan B to have.

Also, have you considered booking the BCV 2BR (or maybe just a BC standard room for mom) using a cash reservation for those two nights? I know that might be over-the-top pricey, but it might be an option (another plan B, maybe). You'd have the peace-of-mind knowing you had the room, and then if you get lucky at the 7-month window (or the waitlist comes through later on), then you can cancel the cash reservation and get your deposit back.

Thanks! That’s a good idea too. If the WL doesn’t come through we could always rent the points to help cover the cash cost.
