WL 5Nights or Poly 4nights

I like both and I vote for WL. Their decorations for Christmas are beautiful, the resort itself is nice one building as opposed to several and they have a hot tub if you want that.

Plus, it's cheaper than the Poly and you get an extra day. The monorails at Poly haven't been as reliable and they'll be starting a refurb..

Ask your husband if he will still want Poly if the Monorail is down AGAIN? Let him read about the people trapped for three hours on the Monorail. Imagine doing that with three kids? Hope you have sippy cups, extra diapers, and ear plugs.

Is he fond of construction zones? Does he want to pay extra for the ambiance of construction in the middle of the afternoon while you are trying to get the little ones a nap?

If it is raining cats, dogs, and Manatees will he be happy to run over to the restaurant and grab food and drink for everyone and bring it back to your longhouse?

Stay under one roof in a beautifully themed resort with some of the best Christmas decorations on property. Enjoy the boat to Magic Kingdom, the Water Parade, and getting a refill on a coffee without a hike in the great outdoors.

No coin flip needed.

what kind of room would you do with 5 people? we just returned from a split stay 5 wl/5 gf! loved both by the way! would you do a pack and play for your little one? They offer bunk beds, but honestly, unless your kids are used to them, i wouldn't get them because that top bunk could go unused by a child. our 7 yo daughter decided she wasn't in the mood to sleep on top one night so my husband ended up up there! nice, but a bit of a hassle. the lobby at the WL is gorgeous...i'd choose there at christmas, but the quarters may be tight with 4! we are going back with my mom on thanksgiving; staying at the GF again -- cannot wait :)

Owwwwwwwch. You make a convincing argument ;). We are already booked at Poly, but I'll be sure to share this with my hubby. I really am firmly on the fence, so if he has more of a preference, I have been going with that. I bet this will change his mind!

Our youngest would be in a pack and play no matter the resort. Can I start hoping now for construction issues that "upgrade" us from the Poly to the GF ;)?

We stayed at the Poly in January during a cold and rainy period. Although the view from Tahiti was lovely, the long walk to refill mugs and eat was very unpleasant. We never had a chance to sit on the beach or swim in the pool because of the rain and cold.

ETA: The weather when you travel in Dec could be lovely. And since your DH wants the Poly, the I personally would stick with his wishes. That way you can't lose. If the weather is lovely, you'll be glad you stayed at the Poly. And if the weather is horrible then you will have the satisfaction of knowing you were right to have doubts. The worse thing for me would be if we switched to a resort that my DH didn't want and he turned into a grumpy guy the whole time ;) it wouldn't be worth it.

We really are not mountain lodge type people though. Like when I look at it online, it really doesn't do anything for me. BUT last year when we were there, we had friends at BLT and we spent a good deal of time with them, and one night rode the boat over to the WL and in person I did like it. Plus our DVC owner friends love it, so sitting in the lobby with people who love it, its very influential ;). So really the only reason we are considering it is bc we've seen how pretty the lobby/grounds are. Plus I think that it will be incredibly gorgeous at Christmas. Gah, what are we going to do! Ha!

DH wants to stay at the Poly and you are not mountain lodge type people. Enjoy your tropical paradise and then stop over at the WL for a visit to look at the decorations and get a picture in front of the Christmas tree. :thumbsup2

:goodvibes In all seriousness, all these WL fans are very convincing! I guess I'm going to have to go and read through the Poly resort thread and see if those fans are nearly as convincing ;).

Wilderness Lodge....no questions asked!!! It is beautiful during christmas time and you will get the extra day.

I would choose the WL. It is absolutely beautiful in December with all of the Christmas decorations up.

Plus, you get an extra day to spend at WDW! :thumbsup2

I agree about the WL fans being very convincing. I'm a WL fan and I like it much better than the Poly. But then there is just DH and I, not three little kids. We don't need a big room with just the two of us. And your DH wants the Poly.

Another vote for the WL and it's our favorite resort. I always think the extra day is the way to go. Plus the time of the year will make it extra special!

Have a great trip!
