Wk Of Nov 3 - WISH Walking/Running Club

Wow, this is already up to six pages already?!? I should have checked in sooner! :rotfl:

DH signed both of us up for a local Gobble Jog 10K on Thanksgiving Day. This will be my 2nd race! I hope I'm as stoked as I was when I was running thru Epcot at RFTT. That was part of the fun for me...

I got in a 3.75 miler this morning, my pace is now starting to consistently be under 11:00! :woohoo: This morning it was 10:39.

Course, it kills me that I run more often that DH and he goes out and flies. :headache:

I think my new shoes are getting better. I feel like I'm working different muscles in them. Does that sound weird? :confused3

So you're abandoning us at POFQ? Apparently we're just lowly peasants who're not worthy of Queen Judy anymore...

Yep she is just tossing us all away like yesterdays bath water. Maybe we are just not worthy. Oh the shame! I must have me beaten.

Unworthy Panda:guilty:

I am still curious as to the whereabouts of Aerosmith last weekend?
You know, the band we were promised by a couple of men around here?
(since there isn't one - imagine a smilie with arms crossed & foot tapping here)

I would like to mention that all would be forgiven with a private Goo Goo Dolls concert.
You can book one for only $150,000. ;-)

Stephanie - So glad you asked about the Dyson. I'm seriously considering the Animal; just haven't convinced myself to spend the money yet. Our house is nothing but dog hair so I really think that's the one for me.

Mel - Competition was okay. I think they placed 2nd in most categories. Seems to be the story of the season. This was the last competition. All we have left is the Christmas parade. How's DD's band doing?

Am I crazy to think I can do 10 miles on Saturday and then do a 10K on Sunday?

Hear ye! Hear ye! I have been sent in Queen Judy's stead to referee this bout.

WWDave: your suggestions shall be taken under advisement. Until Queen Judy makes a ruling, send all beer to me. I shall be SURE that officer Vic gets the beer. ;)

Officer Vic: guard that beer with your life!

nepatsfan Bill: pretty princesses disciplining you? Do NOT go there! Thou shall stay OUT of the gutter!

Queen Judy has spoken.

Oh great RedDragon, favored spokeswoman of Queen Judy:snooty: , help us regain the Queens blessing. We have been bad unworthy subjects, please help.

Erica and I went out for an 8 mile walk and at about 5 miles we were drenched by torrential rains, with a side of lightening and thunder. We quit but not before we were soaked to the skin.

Then on the way home I stopped for gas and some jack **** who had used the pump last had left it stuck wide open. So when the pump started my feet were drenched again this time with gas.

Would you believe I wore a brand new pair of shoes for todays walk?

Considering the above, I'm scared about where this thread is going to go when we all enter 'taper madness'!!!!

Have also decided that's why Katie Holmes is looking so grumpy in all the papp pics recently - she's not fed up with Tom, she's got the taper madness.

Going now.....have infiltrated this thread with enough celebrity mentions this week as it is.

I forgot to post earlier, as per the dyson discussion, they are occasionally available as a refurb on woot.com. You just have to be patient.

Hey all... 45 minutes on the TM tonight. I'll take what I can get.

Judy - I am with Jackie - What's up with ditching us at POFQ????? Hmmmmphhh

Oh and speaking of Katie Holmes... Did you see she ran the NYC Marathon in 5:30ish??? KATIE HOLMES RUNS AT MY PACE!! Rock on, I am worthy!!!!!!

I have a Dyson Animal. I think it sucks up dirt and hair all the way from China. My carpets can't be that dirty. :rolleyes1

I love it, by the way!

Thanks for all the Dyson advice. DH ordered one tonight--got a great deal through Circuit City. Got 3 miles in at the gym with a little added weight/ab work. Now I'm feeling like poopy--don't know if it was the two back to back workouts or some ick I picked up from my kids.

Martha--I can help you "watch" that beer;) I did a great job keeping an eye on Scott's for him at ToT!

WWDave--ugh on the rain, but more so on the gasoline! Ick! Hope the shoes aren't damaged too much!

MelR--wow, that pic is mighty impressive--where on the race was that? Coming down the cliffs toward the river trail?

Well, it's off to bed with me--some tea and a good book, then some much needed shut eye! Have a great night all! Happy Training!:goodvibes

I am still curious as to the whereabouts of Aerosmith last weekend?

Kristi--What?? You mean that wasn't Steven Tyler wearing a white insane asylum jump suit picking grass and mumbling in the field at Wide World of Sports? Wow, I really shouldn't have asked that guy for his autograph then. ;)

MelR - awesome picture!:)

Lou - Congrats on the bridge run. Hope the leg is feeling better. :wizard:

Helen - I was thinking the guys must be suffering from some sort of pre-taper madness. Hopefully Queen Judy will have pity on them and spare them ;)

Just checking in for me today. Busy at work and home.
Happy training!

Terri

Good Morning Team: :surfweb:

OK, I got my run in yesterday after work. I did 3 miles on the TM. I admit it, I was a wimp. I was all set to run outside, checked the weather, and it was 40 degrees and rainy. Yuck! I decided to do the TM.

I was LOVIN' the Steeler game last night. :cool1: I really liked when they were bringing all the old Steelers onto the field at halftime. It was reminding me of when I was a kid in Pittsburgh. I WISH they would have showed more of that.

Melissa- How are you doing girl? Cool climbing picture!

Shan- great job on your run. Congrats on signing up for your 2nd race. :thumbsup2

WWDave- Dave, oh no. Good thing you weren't covered with gas when the lightening struck. Hope you got all the gas off. Man, that can ruin clothes too.

Jen- Great job getting your 45 min in on the TM, and don't ever think you're not worthy! Katie Holmes should be so lucky to be a member of this great group.

Steve- I certainly hope your post last night occured at Halftime!

Hello, WISHers!

Sorry I don't have time to respond to everyone today. It has been absolutely crazy since we got back from ToT. First of, my dad ended up in the hospital and got 3 new stents so last week I was at the hospital pretty much all the time. This week he's home, but with my mom gone it's up to me to take care of him. So I'm trying to run 2 households, start a new job, chaperone field trips ...

My running, needless to say, has suffered. Pretty much nothing last week. I was supposed to get in 12 this weekend and only had time for 6. I snuck in 30 minutes yesterday. HOPEFULLLY today I can get in an hour or so. I'm scheduled for 18 this coming weekend. Yikes!

Hope everyone else is getting in their miles. Run a few for me!
Renee

Well, my "not feeling so hot" last night is definitely some bug, and not due to over training. I have a fever of 102 this morning and glands the size of golf balls. So, even though today is a scheduled rest day, it's gonna really be a rest day for me! Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Stephanie: Get well soon!!!!!!! :stir: (Homemade chicken soup...don't you feel better already?)

Hi Everyone!

All this talk of NFL football! What about NCAA? This weekend is Auburn vs Georgia!! I have to miss the game since we are going to watch the Thrashers play that night. Think I can keep the announcers from giving out the scores until I get home to Tivo?
I'll echo what Dave said. I highly recommend it. The best way to get in is to pick up a race application at the WDW Expo. It's supposed to get you a guaranteed entry.
Chester
Thank you thank you! Oh That would be easy enough! I have about convinced myself that I am going to do it. Now to tell Dh. :rolleyes1

Now look homey, you were incharge of negotiating a virgin for Vic to sacrafice to the Boogy. You didn't produce a virgin and so the Boogy never showed. There fore you will have seek Queen Judy's pardon. Should she not pardon you, there will be no beer for you after the Marathon.
Man that is some harsh punishment! I have NO idea what you are talking about, but no post marathon beer means it must have been a seroius offense.

Am I crazy to think I can do 10 miles on Saturday and then do a 10K on Sunday?
Jackie
Um, you do realize that you are talking to race addicts? Its like asking guys at the bar if you should buy everyone a round of beer. That being said, I say go for it. I do 8-10 miles on Wednesday mornings and then another 5 in the evening with some hard core runners. Once your legs warm up at the race, you will be fine. oh, have you ever run 10 miles? that might make a difference.....

Oh and speaking of Katie Holmes... Did you see she ran the NYC Marathon in 5:30ish??? KATIE HOLMES RUNS AT MY PACE!! Rock on, I am worthy!!!!!!
But did you see her after the race? Did someone stop her at mile 25 and do her make up. Where is the beet red face or sickly white face? Where is the sweat? NO ONE is supposed to look that cute after a marathon. Except Krista.

Have a good day everyone!
Cecilia
