Wk of May 25 - WISH Walking/Running Club

I ran in the Spring Lake 5 with Cam and about 6,784 others yesterday. I ran it in 48:07 for an overall pace of about 9:37. My previous run had been the Minnie Marathon. So... without training I did fairly well.

Training for the two Marathons coming up in October & November begins this week.

Oh yes, I bought the "Eat This, Not This" book today and plan on putting it to good use. I plan on eating (I used to skip a lot of breakfast and lunches) and eat the right things from now on. I want to lose some weight and get back into shape so I can be in a position to get a PR at MCM or Philly this fall.

Happy Memorial Day!!!

:grouphug:

Good morning WISHers!

3 miles yesterday in between watching the Monaco Grand Prix, Indy 500 and the Coca Cola 600. I think I’m raced out for the moment.

Mel – WTG with the 5 miler. I think FSU sounds like a good option for DD. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Kristi – Have fun building your deck.

Tracy – WTG with the 5 miler!

Amy – WTG with the training. Take care of yourself.

Kira – Hope your run today is better than yesterday.

Cam and Howard – Congrats with the 5K, and Cam’s PR!

Jen – Congrats with the PR!

Lynnda – Hope you’re feeling better soon.

:)

Mel:My college is a little over an hour away from home. It is nice that I can drive home or my parents can drive here without it being a huge deal. Also my grandparents and aunt and uncle live here in town, but I can't say that I see them a lot more than when I otherwise would have. Though it would have been neat to go somewhere out of state, Louisiana pays full tuition for 8 semesters which is hard to pass up.

As Carolbrought up: Definitely dorms are great if she goes to school close and I completely agree with the "don't come home for at least a month" rule for the first semester.

And I agree with Cecilia on having lots of weekend (and other) activities. It helps if you want to stay there! I found a great balance of having a small group of people that I got to know (in the Residential College and college ministry group) and a big university feel.

Kristi:Ooo fun project!

Tracy: Nice run!

Amy: Get some rest and get to feeling better.

Kira: Sorry about the stonker!

Cam: :thumbsup2 great race!

Jen: PR with hills and an asthma attack? :worship:

Jeff: Your running/social groups sound amazing. :cloud9: I wanna move to Hawaii now!

Howard: Great race! Good luck on the eating.

:duck:

I've been rather busy with intersession. I had a nice week "off" after finals, but my professor was kind enough to send us the book list and syllabus in advance so I did all of my readings and most of my assignments before getting to class. Intersession squishes a semester's worth of classes into two weeks (Monday-Saturday, 3 hrs per day), so this definitely helped me stay sane! My prof also decided to let us have "lab" Tue, Thur, and Sat to do our assignments so it has actually been pretty easy. It's a qualitative research (think people instead of numbers) class and I will be glad to have it out of the way.

I've been staying with some friends in their off-campus apartment and it has been neat. I think I may be rather spoiled with all this space and a real kitchen! Plus no parking problems. It's nice because I can bike to class, to the recreation center (gym), or to the grocery store. I'm also getting to run some new routes, which is a nice change. On the downside it's getting hot and humid. Yesterday we hit the low 90's and the "realfeel" was up at 108. Whew!

I'm off for a nice 5 or 6 miler now. Happy running!

Good morning team! I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day. Our long weekend was last weekend so I'm at work.

I didn't get my long run in on Saturday. I woke up and the rain was just pouring down. I just wasn't sure how I felt about spending almost 2 hours out in a downpour so I put the run off and the BF and I drove up to Banff where we had a terrific time. We enjoyed the natural hot pool at our hotel and went out for a fantastic fondue dinner with wild boar, buffalo, elk, venison and caribou. We drove back Sunday afternoon and it was still raining the entire time... By 3:30 it seemed light enough that I could get my run in...and it was fantastic! I ran 19:1 intervals again and even picked up my pace from last week's 9 miler.

So 10 miles done in 1:47:43. Tonight I have 3 miles and hot yoga planned.

Also, this weekend I decided to try my first multi-sport event! I'll be taking part in a duathlon in Sylvan Lake, Alberta (about 2 hours north of Calgary). It is a 3k run - 26k bike - 3k run. The weather is supposed to improve so it should be fun!

Hi, Everyone!

I haven't been keeping up very well...had a tough time recovering from the 1/2 Ironman tri at WDW 2 weekends ago, dealing with some relationship issues. So I just laid low all week. Then did another tri here in my hometown yesterday and had a blast! So good to have family and friends all around. :)
I hope to get some RR's up early this week.

Keep up all the good training and racing...I hope to get caught up on everyone's stories soon.

Lynnda---did you ever write a RR for the WDW Danskin? I would love to hear about it.

Keep safe today and happy Memorial Day! Thanks to all our vets and servicemen/women!

Here are the pictures of the cake Lynnda made for Billy's birthday. If you can't tell it is about 4 layers high in some places.

I think she did a great job and from the comments by others, I wasn't the only one. :thumbsup2

Happy Memorial Day.

And a big THANK YOU to all our vets and service men/women! Everyone stay safe!

I went out and did the 5K course at the park near me. Took 40 minutes which seems ok for me. (I want to go faster, but I must accept that I am old and slow LOL! I did get one burst of speed. I stepped over a "stick" in the trail and it raised up in the air. It was a SNAKE! I am not normally scared of snakes, but this one was aiming for me....... I HAULED YOU KNOW WHAT. Another runner got a stick and chased Mr. Snake back in the bushes!

I am starting WW again. I think I could speed up if I was hauling around a few less pounds and those Minnie pictures really drove it home (YIKES!!!!)

Hope everyone has a great week!

Bill, tell Lynnda very cool cake, very talented skills!

Yesterday, I took our Girl Scout troop to watch "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Capian." Before going, I suggest watching the first movie, to refresh yourself on the storyline. The show was very action packed. The kids all liked it.

For those who don't already know, Disneyland is getting new Mark VII monorails. The first red train is being tested at the park, but without riders so far.

Scroll down to near the very bottom of this webpage, to see photos of the new train. The rest of the webpage has info on the trains at both parks. Site owner is a real monorail enthusiast.

This second site, the guy built his own working monorail in his backyard. You won't believe your eyes!

Hello WISH'ers....

I was busy last week with work and flew to Boston for the weekend to move my daughter--man does she have a ton of stuff! Packing and moving her stuff is the only workout I've had since last Thursday, so tomorrow it's back to the gym.

Am christening the new ice cream maker today with a batch of Strawberry Gelato--the mix is chilling in the fridge. And since it's Memorial Day, I will also have the first Gin & Tonic of the summer season.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Maura

Hi, WISH friends. The two to three days to fix my laptop has morphed into at least six--it's still not done. I'm posting this from my dinosaur Dell, which is incredibly slow and prompted me to buy the laptop last year in the first place. And DH's Macbook decided to have an error in the user account, so we have to wait a little longer until at least one of us has reasonable access.

I can't read the posts because it takes too long to load. I should be back catching up in the next day or so....

Duckie

Ok, I'm not totally sure how this new DIS thing works--do we post stuff here or in our small groups or both:confused: Guess i'll do both for now;)

I am excited to be running again and I'm at a solid 3 miles with no stops which feels really good--a month ago I couldn't even go 1/2 a mile without walking so major improvement and getting back in the swing:yay:

I have a 5K Adventure Run on Friday. I'm excited but nervous b/c I don't really know what to expect--definatly will be obstacles, running through water, etc. Hopefully I'll survive!

Sounds like eveyone is doing great! I am seriously considering signing up for the Princess Marathon. Would it be weird for DH to be also?? Any men signing up?

Carol A--I'm also starting WW again. I'm going to just do it at home since I have the materials already. I lost about 75 lbs a few years ago but have let 15 creep back on:furious: Why do I do this to myself?!!? Anyway, best of luck--we know the system works so lets work the system:woohoo:

Mel—tell Kaylee to go to school as far away from home as possible. That makes it that much harder for mom and dad to figure out all the “non-acceptable” things that go on. :) Kidding. Honestly, I went to school out of state (about 300 miles away) and loved it. I will admit I got homesick sometimes, but it was a great “growing up” experience.

Tracy—good job on the 5 miles!

Amy—so sorry you’re feeling sick. Hope you can recover quickly. Good luck to you DD in the tourney today!

Kira—probably a good thing that you took it easy today. Usually your body doesn’t lie to you—it was most likely telling you that you needed a break. Good luck on the 10K!

Cam—WTG on the PRs!!! You totally rock!

Jen—you are awesome! Great job on the PR, especially with all those obstacles!

Jeff—if we ever make it to Hawaii, I will take you up on the offer for a run!

Howard—great job on the 5 miler!

Leana—mmmm, fondue! Don’t tell Krista you had fondue, she may just make the trek up to Canada to join you! :) Good job on the 10 miles!

Wow, Lynnda, that is quite a cake! Is there any left over? (Krista told me to ask). :)

Duckie—hope your laptop is all “better” soon. I know how painful it is to go back to the slow computer for awhile.

Kelly—no, you can’t post here and your team thread, too. Stop it! Only one thread! That’s what keeps this craziness so hard to keep up with! :) Kidding. Good job on the 3 miles and good luck with your adventure race on Friday!

The weekend’s been pretty good here. Nothing too crazy. Krista met up with some college friends on Saturday which left Hines and I to fend for ourselves. Look out, world! Yesterday, we had a get-together with my family and today we’ve mostly just relaxed. A good weekend. I’ve managed to get in some decent biking and running. 56 miles biking Saturday and 18 today. And then 7 miles running yesterday. So I feel good about that.

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day and that you all have a good week! Talk to you all soon!

Steve

Last week's thread:

ksoehrlein: In rereading my post to you, it occured to me that you might think Runner's World has the ABC (or alphabet) exercise. It doesn't--that one's just my favorite. It's basically pointing the toe and tracing the alphabet with your foot. I do it standing up, balanced on one foot. Here's a link that describes an alternative method. I hope it helps, and sorry for the clarity issues; I type quicker than I think sometimes.

Oh, and Congrats on W4D1 of C25K. I'm so glad your shin pain isn't extreme and you're taking good care of yourself. And I'm doubly glad that you're meeting your goals and feeling good about your accomplishments. (It doesn't need to be pretty, as I'm sure you are.)

Ang: Yep, my first 1/2 and my first full were both during Goofy 2008. I was new to the whole running thing, so it was like going 0 to 60 (okay 25) in 12 months. I was smart enough to know better than to try the big event and too stubborn not to do it. Everyone should make fun of me now. (Although, in my defense, it helped that I just wanted to finish.) As for your progression to W6, it sounds like you're doing a great job listening to your body. I need to take a clue from you and stretch more; it makes a HUGE difference.

Frank: Oh, no, you're not getting me to bike up the Tuscan hills. Pgh is bad enough. Visit them, enjoy the scenery, sure. But I need to be a much stronger biker, like you, before I take a tour. And it sounds wonderful, btw, as does VBT! I look forward to your TR!!! :woohoo: (And thanks for your suggestions for Cleveland--we have enough to left to do there for a return visit!)

Krista: I'm so glad to hear you're doing fine. What you really need is a chauffeur! (Think of it as getting your dues in before you become one for Carter and his youth sports leagues.)

Allyson: It sounds like your C25K is frustrating, but just look at you. You "petered out" at 16:18, but kept doing a RW interval. :cool1: That's exactly what I've had to do in my running, both on race days and in general. And Galloway would say that you can make faster times by keeping walking in your runs. From the evidence we've seen, it's mighty tempting... (I still have walk breaks in my runs, btw, that I take whenever the mood strikes me.)

Cecilia: It sounds like you're getting in some great training for your trialthon, although I don't even you those hot and humid conditions! Your team is going to kick booty, I know it!

Kira: It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend, starting with Cirque du Soleil. And I'm so jealous of your son and circus camp (let alone your daughter's experiences). That's just the kind of thing I would have grooved on as a kid. Heck, I'd groove on it now.

Jackie: What a great run you had. Not only the improvement but finding a running partner. Just a great experience overall, except for maybe the ankle. You give it a good talking to, in your best "mom" voice. I bet that would scare your ankle into recovery! :rotfl2:

Tracy: And what's the matter with long-winded posts? ;) :rotfl: I'm sorry you won't make Pgh for the triumphant return of its marathon (May 3), but I understand. Disney takes priority for me, as well. And I think it might conflict with the Flying Pig--when is that one, folks? I think I'll need to do it, at least volunteer for it, and then report back. I'll be thinking of YOU, though, as I eat my ice cream. And when I do attempt my hills, I do think, "Surely this one isn't as big as Mount Trashmore?" It sounds like the beginning of your weekend, from the massage to mileage to ACC tourney, might have made for a great Memorial Day holiday. :thumbsup2

Aloha Jeff: Thanks for the overview of the DL 1/2. I would not have thought to continue to soak my shirt. It's that kind of tip that will make the 1/2 better for all participants. I especially appreciate that you detailed you soaked your shirt out of the sink. In the meantime, I hope you're not moving much at all in your current hot conditions and are instead relaxing, maybe having the Queen and Princesses wait on you? :rotfl2: Nope, just can't keep a straight face for that one. But I do envision you lolling about in a hammock, Gilligan's Island style.

As for me: Believe it or not, no ice cream this Memorial weekend. I do have a couple of hours left, though.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!

Mel: Thanks for pointing out the new stickies. And a big thank you to Bill! Wow, you were a wild woman this weekend, going all minimal with the 5 miler. Have you ever noticed how hard it is to get out there with all our rituals. I'm practically at a loss if I don't have my tech gear, my exact breakfast, tie my shoes three times, etc. Do you think I'm superstitious?

Um, I hope you don't mean to give up on the ice-cream social....I hope there's time for many if not all these things. Actually, I don't know what the schedule generally is?? What are the "traditional" WISHer events and when? It's good for me to know these things, as DOOD and I will need to fly back Monday because of the start of the semester. :(

P.S. I went in-state. Didn't think I had much financial choice, and it's even worse for a lot of young adults today. The experience was good for me, in the end. I lived a few hours away, went to a big, diverse school, and met both people who thought like me and those who challenged my beliefs. If there's one thing I would have changed, I wish I'd done a study abroad program for a semester or a year. That's the one experience I would advise, and have advised, all students to have. (I realize I'm reiterating what Joan said, but it bears repeating, IMO.)

Kristi: It sounds like the new deck will be a great addition (Hah, I can't believe I said that) to your family social gatherings. What a smart way to avoid Memorial weekend overindulgence. (Watch out for the 4th of July, though!)

CarolA: You're another person who's providing useful information about your Galloway group (Jackie is the other). You all make it sound very, very tempting. It sounds like you're getting into the training groove and connecting with your running group. Very cool. And I'm glad to hear you survived the snake encounter: "Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?" (Gratuitous Indy Jones ref.)

Amy: First off, congrats to your DD and her softball team. That's big news! And yeah for your good Galloway run. (Galloway, now where have I heard that name before?) But boo for your illness. I hope it was fleeting, like snow in May.

Kira: Happy Mother's Day. I hope your celebration was everything you hoped for!! You DID do the right thing on your run, and you're smart enough to be flexible with the LRs so as to really enjoy them. I think your decision bodes well for your upcoming 10K, too.

Cam:  for your PR pace and for running 23 minutes straight. That's great news and I know you're going to conquer next week's C25K. It really sounds like everything just came together for you, despite the lack of sleep and caffeine. Maybe the Wii has something to do with it, not that I fetishize new toys or anything. :rolleyes1

Jen: Oh, a PR. More great news from the racing weekend front. :cool1: And you PRed feeling strong, despite the hills, the sinus infection and an asthma attack. :scared1: You rock, woman! (And your staff gave you the backing you deserved. Good for them for handling things without you.)

Aloha Jeff: I didn't realize just how social your running group was. I mean, I knew it was social, but not the the degree it was. How very sweet. Now, my next question is, how do you afford to do all these things? :rotfl2: And I didn't know about the Mark VII monorails. Man, you're not only trying to convince me to relocate to Hawaii but to plan another trip to DL. You should be a recruiter. Methinks I chose the wrong profession, darn my liberal-arts loving self!

Kelly and Lynnda: You both made me laugh AND want to be a NOLE. Maybe I should go back to school. I'm not too old for the college scene, am I? What I remember of those days, I remember fondly. Seems like there was alcohol involved. :confused3 :rotfl:

Kelly: Post to both your small groups and here, if you have time. That way we all get to know you. Wow, you've really made a lot of progress quickly. And your 5K Adventure run sounds like it will be fun and filled with the unexpected.

Howard: What a great race for you, and a great finish to your semester. :woohoo: And what is this I hear? You're actually training for MCM and Philly? What's next, training for the Goofy? :rotfl2:

Vic: Raced out? Are you feeling all right? You must be talking about your own mileage, not cars.

Claire: You're back, you're back! I did my shout-out to you last week, even though I knew you were enjoying intercession. Okay, maybe not enjoying intercession but managing it. It sounds like your prof knows how to help you maximize your time. I always liked qualitative research more than quantitative; thick description and all that. I've been hoping you're able to get some workouts in, and that you'll be back here more often in just a little bit.

Leana: What a great weekend you had. It sounds like your Sat. LR was postponed for good reasons, including a great Saturday and your Sunday LR pace. I look forward to hearing about your first duathon. Given how active you are, I can't imagine you'll do anything less than impressive.

Betsy: It's great to have you back and posting. And to know that you're enjoying your events--I had no idea you had another tri planned so soon after the one at Disney. I'm sorry to hear about your relationship issues, though. They suck. I hope you know your friends around here missed you! :yay:

Bill: Lynnda is a genius. And now my mouth is watering, so she's an evil genius.

Maura: You are a woman after my own heart, or at least taste buds. Strawberry Gelato and a Gin & Tonic. Now, if you will only tell me that you enjoyed these things while wearing a sharp, urban seersucker suit....

Ms. Duckie: Awww, I hoped your Mac was back in town. It's just not the same with a Dell, is it? (As a proud owner of both, I admit to occasionally cheating with the Dell but returning to my true love.) We miss you around here.

Steve: I'm so glad you, Krista, and Hines had a good relaxing weekend, including time with family and friends and what sounds to be some good running on your part. You all deserve it. :woohoo: Oh, and in case you miss the above post--when is the Flying Pig?

As for me: I'll give you more details tomorrow, because this is just a catch-up post so I don't fall too far behind on the weekly thread. DOOD is giving me the stink-eye, as I promised him a WISH-free weekend for the holiday. I'm such a liar. :rolleyes1

The short version is we spent a lot of time packing for the upcoming move, say the Phipps Conservatory Chocolate exhibit, had a picnic, and watched the new Indiana Jones movie. (Like the original? you'll like this one I think, especially if you saw the first one at a pivotal moment in your adolescence.) Also did some biking together :cloud9: and I've started my pre-January training, where I hope to find the fun in my run.

Now, off to spend some quality time with DOOD.

Kelly: Good luck with the 5K Adventure, sounds kinda like the Everest Challenge.

Duckie: I MISS YOU!!

Howard: Nice 5K - Congrats.

Vic: I had a good one also, ACC Tournie (C a n e s #1), Indy race and the Coca Cola 600!! Yeah Kasy Kahne, I kn ow I'm not popular with that but, I don't care. He had such a horrible year last year so I am so ahppy for him!!

Claire: Ugh! Intersession - I think I would just have to shoot myself. I couldn't handle a class that was 2 nights a week for like 3 1/2 hours each. I was always trying to hold my eyelids open. Good heads up with the reading ahead of time. Gosh ya'll are hotter that us here in S. FL - yuk.

Leana: I won't spend that much time in the rain either (2hours). Sounds like a better time instead. Nice 10miles. GOod luck with the duathlon!!

Jeff: WHat!! Your group on Sundays doesn't have a color for the WALKERS!!! - I must protest, maybe it could be lime green????? I LOVE the new Mach VII monorail at DL, maybe I'll get to ride it in August. I saw Indiana Jones today and they had a crew in HI - did you catch any of it when it was there??

Betsy: Sorry to hear about the tough recovery and relationship issues, but sounds like the most recent TRI made it all better!! Here's some PD for you...pixiedust:

Kelly: Post where you want... I tend to post more in detail here because I just can't keep up with both this and the team side. I too may start up WW again, we'll see.

Steve: Nice mileage with running and biking!!! Was the photo in your sig taken this year at the POLY concierge lounge?? I think I saw you guys there, I was bumped up to concierge. I was there with my mother.

Debra: I saw a lady at this years WDW Half walking in fron tof me with a shirt that had in the back, "I'll run when Pig's Fly."hehe. I haven't been back to visit my mountain of trash in awhile, but will go back and visit closer to the DL 1/2. I need to get more info on the course from Jeff in regards to overpasses etc. Yeas I had a good weekend, ACC tournie, INdy race, CocaCola 600, Mem Day 5K, and tonight......ICE CREAM. I know you want some.

As for me: Had a good weekend. DId 3miles Saturday, 5 miles SUnday and a 5K race today. Saw some good baseball during the ACC baseball TOurnament. My 'Canes won!! Watched some Indy car racing, and the CocaCola 600. I stayed up til the very end and my driver #9 pulled it out and WON!! Yes. Saw Indiana Jones today - I liked it!!! Then again I am a big INdy fan!!
I put my RR in the RR thread, so read about it there. Tomorrow is suppose to be a 3miler, but I may hold off since I did 3.10 today.
I'm off to get some ice cream this time it's Edy's Cookies and Cream, YUMMMMM.

Myself...

I am pretty new to Dis Boards in general, but definitely new to the WISH forums. (What a great idea!)

About a month and a half ago I convinced a handful of friends to sign up for the Expedition Everest Challenge with me and now I can't wait until September! It'll be the first Disney "endurance" event for most of us (two of my friends did the Team in Training triathlon last year)

I need to work on my mileage though. I've been a sometimes runner for a few years now and have managed to shave a few minutes off my best time. I am hoping that the EEC will be a PR! I think I can do it, there's plenty of time! (I hope those aren't famous last words)

Ok, I think I have babbled enough. I am looking forward to posting again with my accomplishments :)

-Shaily

Howard & Cam - congrats on the race! Wtg Cam on the PR pace! :thumbsup2
Jen117 - Congrats on your PR. I hate hills, too.

CarolA - Welcome back. I'm a big Lady Vols fan (and Smokey, too ;) )

Leanna - Good Luck in the du. I have a du scheduled for mid-July.

Bill - tell Lynnda I said "Cool cake!"

Shaily - welcome to the Wish Boards! :wave2:

As for me, I trained today!:cool1: It's been a long time. I walked two miles. Didn't keep time, just wanted to get the steps in. My legs are a little sore (although doing yard work yesterday didn't help them much either), but it felt good to finally get out and DO something. I've been such a slug. :(
But I've got to re-start somewhere, so I started today (no time like the present, huh?)

I'm leaving for the World on Wednesday. Can't wait to just relax, lay by the pool, do the parks on my own time (this is a solo trip) and just recharge the batteries.

I'll catch up with you all when I get back!

Happy training!
Terri

Jeff: WHat!! Your group on Sundays doesn't have a color for the WALKERS!!! - I must protest, maybe it could be lime green????? I LOVE the new Mach VII monorail at DL, maybe I'll get to ride it in August. I saw Indiana Jones today and they had a crew in HI - did you catch any of it when it was there??

Tracy,

Uh, the walkers probably have a color, but since we split up in different directions after the doc's weekly talk, I really couldn't tell you what color they are. I'll just guess it's "Crimson" by the looks on their faces when they get back from their walks. :lmao:

Indiana Jones was filmed over on the Big Island near Hilo, not here on Oahu. They were there for about a month, and the local movie extras were not told what the movie was until after they were on the set. They had to sign a agreement not to talk to anyone about the movie, until after the premier.

We spent the day at the beach in Waikiki with friends visiting from Oregon. Very nice visit since we hadn't see each other in 13 years, when she attended our wedding here. Our children met each other for the first time, and they were like "peas and carrots." That Forrest Gump was a pretty smart fella.

I took the keiki out into the ocean for some Boogie Boarding, and the waves were 1-2 foot range. Fun time teaching them how to kick as the surf is building behind them. They caught on pretty fast.

Aloha Jeff: I didn't realize just how social your running group was. I mean, I knew it was social, but not the the degree it was. How very sweet. Deb

I'm able to afford my Disneyitis, and running group activities by getting suckers, er, I mean family and friends to pay my mortgage, car payments, insurance, gas, utilities, groceries, and anything else that requires greenbacks. Yeah right, like that's gonna happen ::yes:: Budgeting for DL & WDW races by splitting hotel rooms, eating at inexpensive restaurants like Blue Bayou, Club 33, and anywhere in the Disney Resort. LOL :rotfl2: , I wish that were true.

Debra: Glad you had a little Indy in your weekend. I can't wait to see it! I've heard good stuff!

And you are right about the Walk/Run stuff. I had a frustrating experience last night and I continue to beat myself up over having to stop and walk a little. I ran a total of 27 minutes last night with a 5 minute warm up walk and a 2 minute and a 3 minute walk break in the middle, the whole thing was 37 minutes. And I'm upset with myself for that. What is wrong with me? I couldn't run to the end of the street a few months ago and I need to be happy about my progress. I really need to go get a Galloway book I think. I think Walk/Run is going to be the best way for me to do this. I just can't seem to go any longer than 16 minutes at a stretch.

Jeff: I love reading about your runs and seeing your pictures, truly a paradise! I hope I get to see Hawaii myself someday!

Shaily: Welcome! It is a nice bunch here! I like your name btw! Pretty!

On a side note, David Cook's Time of My Life is a GREAT song to run to, got me through my last push last night!:thumbsup2

Proud of DH, he just did his 2 miles this morning in 22 and change, his PR!
